Litrak Should Reconsider Puchong Selatan U-Turn Closure
Subang Jaya mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim is pushing for the U-turn at Puchong Selatan Toll Plaza on the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) to remain accessible for motorists traveling from Cyberjaya to Seri Kembangan, reported local daily The Star.
To address the issue, Amirul Azizan plans to formally communicate with Litrak, the highway concessionaire, to discuss keeping the U-turn operational. He emphasized that closing it would lead to heavy traffic congestion and additional toll costs for drivers heading to Taman Equine from Cyberjaya, as they would have to pay twice if they missed the turn-off into Jalan Putra Permai.
The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) recently held discussions with Litrak, Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin, and Seri Serdang assemblyman Abbas Salimmi Che Adzmi to find a solution.
However, Litrak representatives remained adamant about proceeding with the closure citing safety concerns as the primary reason, arguing that accidents had occurred at the location. Amirul however refutes this claim, stating that MBSJ’s records only showed three accidents per year at the U-turn - not justifying its closure.
Litrak had officially announced that the U-turn would be closed from April 1.
Subsequently, on March 18, Abbas Salimmi voiced his frustration on social media, stating that he had not been formally informed of the decision, despite earlier discussions on easing congestion by keeping the U-turn open.
According to The Star, Litrak declined to provide further statements on the matter.
