Over 6,000 Thai Vehicles Entered Kelantan During Raya

The Kelantan Road Transport Department (JPJ) reported that 6,172 vehicles from Thailand entered Malaysia through the three main border checkpoints in Kelantan during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holiday from March 24 to April 8.
According to its director, Mohd Misuari Abdullah, The Rantau Panjang checkpoint saw the highest volume of traffic, with 2,771 vehicles entering and 2,149 exiting the country. Following closely were the Bukit Bunga checkpoint (1,909 vehicles entering, 1,966 exiting) and the Pengkalan Kubor checkpoint (1,489 entering, 1,391 exiting).

A total of 5,506 vehicles left Malaysia during the holiday period.
“Throughout the festive season, the movement of Thai vehicles was smooth, with a very high level of compliance with regulations. No offences related to the International Circulation Permit (ICP) documents were detected during the period.
“Although JPJ’s primary focus is currently the Ops HRA (Hari Raya Aidilfitri) 2025, enforcement of foreign vehicle offences continues under Ops Tunggak, which generated RM76,950 in revenue from 277 summonses issued,“ Misuari says in a Bernama report.

He noted that the violations included not possessing an ICP, failing to display or present the ICP, displaying the ICP incorrectly, not having a valid CDL, as well as a number of other technical violations.
