My50 Pass Coming to Touch ‘n Go eWallet Starting July 1

The My50 public transport concession pass can be activated via the Touch n’ Go eWallet app from July 1 onwards.
Malaysians will be able to access or renew their My50 public transport concession passes via the Touch n’ Go eWallet mobile app from July 1, 2025, onwards. This was announced by Transport Minister (MOT) Anthony Loke, where the passes can be activated using TnG’s NFC cards, thus eliminating the need to queue at station counters.
"Each My50 user takes about two to three minutes to renew their pass at Rapid KL counters. If there are 15 customers (in line), the waiting time can reach 45 minutes," Loke said in response to complaints of busy counters at popular transit station counters like the KLCC and Pasar Seni LRT stations.
The minister also said that the application uses the e-KYC (Know Your Customer) process to verify citizenship status, as the pass is only available to Malaysians, with its verification process typically taking one day for normal citizens.

Besides the My50 pass integration, Loke also announced that the TnG eWallet app will soon display records of train stations frequently used to help commuters plan their transit journey. At the same time, the minister also assured that the TnG NFC cards will be in stock to cater for more users in the future.
"We (the government) are not going to track which station you go to every day, your patterns, or any of that. This data will not be given to Prasarana.
“Prasarana will only know how many people are moving from one station to another. They will not know who the users are, because the data is captured within the Touch 'n Go e-wallet," Loke stated, adding that the process is governed by the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

Separately, the transport minister also said that Prasarana must ensure that parking facilities at its Park 'n Ride stations are up to standard to encourage greater use of public transportation.
