UMWT has been announced as the title sponsor for the 2025 Super GT Round 3, with the Vios Challenge becoming the supporting bill.

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT), together with Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia (TGR), today has been officially announced as the Title Sponsor for the third round of the 2025 Autobacs Super GT Series. Set to take place at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from June 26 to 28, the Super GT series is finally coming back to Malaysia after a 12-year hiatus and is the only overseas round for this season.

In conjunction with this, both UMWT and TGR have also announced that their signature single-make race series, the TGR Vios Challenge, is also set to make its international debut during this third round of the Super GT Series, where it will be one of the two feature races supporting the main event, with the other one being the Toyota GR86 Cup.

For this special event, the Vios Challenge will be held in a special 1-hour race format, replacing the usual 30-minute sprint. On top of that, this new endurance format will cover the full 5.543 KM Sepang circuit, featuring three competition classes—Super Sporting class for professionals, Sporting class for amateurs, and a special Rookie Class for TGR’s young development drivers.

What’s also interesting about this special round of the Vios Challenge is that five young rookies from the TGR Young Talent Development Program will be competing on an international platform in only their second race of the season. To date, a total of 22 drivers have graduated from this development programme, with over 10 currently competing in local races and 4 already achieving victories and championship titles on the international stage.

This special round of the Vios Challenge is part of the 8th season of the series, where a total of RM800,000 in prize money is up for grabs, and features participants of 36 drivers from Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.

As the round’s title sponsor, UMWT will also be making waves at the Super GT Malaysia Festival, where visitors can check out a display of all current GR models, including the GR Supra, GR Yaris, GR Corolla, GR86, and many more. Visitors can also grab official Toyota Gazoo Racing merchandise on sale, as well as plenty of interactive games and activities for all walks of life.

The highlight for the Super GT Malaysia Festival is the GT Live! Post-race concert, featuring a star-studded lineup such as Tenxi, Naykilla & Jemsii (TNJ), Kaka Azraff, KL48, Fareedpf K-Clique, Sabhi Saddi, and many more.
