GAC Malaysia Enlists Datuk Remy Ishak As New Brand Ambassador

To broaden its appeal across more Malaysian buyers, GAC Malaysia revealed last weekend that it has enlisted another major local personality to become its newest brand ambassador.
During a GAC and Aion brand showcase held in 1Utama Shopping Centre, PJ last weekend, the brand’s local assemblers and distributors WTC Automotif Sdn Bhd (WTCA) announced renowned award-winning actor Datuk Remy Ishak for the role.

Datuk Remy now joins fellow celebrity and renowned mandarin radio jock Jack Lim – GAC Malaysia’s first appointed brand ambassador – under the brand’s ‘ONE GAC’ initiative. Together, both are set to represent the qualities that define the GAC Malaysia brand.
“I’m truly honoured to join a brand that not only matches my lifestyle and driving aspirations but also dares to stand out. I look forward to this exciting journey with GAC Malaysia,” expressed Datuk Remy on Saturday at the brand showcase noted.

“We are now equally thrilled to welcome Datuk Remy Ishak into the GAC family. Remy brings with him a unique blend of charisma, professionalism, and influence that resonates with Malaysian audiences,” adds Tan Keng Meng, CEO of WTCA.
The exec further noted that both Datuk Remy and Jack Lim reflect values upheld by the GAC grand, which includes “bold design, innovation, and a strong connection with (our) customers.”

Local assembly (CKD) for the GAC Emkoo recently commenced at TCMA in Segambut, KL, and deliveries are set to commence by end of Sept 2025 at the earliest.
Both Datuk Remy and Jack Lim will be amongst the first to own the GAC Emkoo locally, and prices for which starts from RM120,000.



Both Datuk Remy and Jack Lim were present for this showcase last weekend, which also saw GAC Malaysia (WTCA) showing off upcoming new metal like the GAC Emkoo C-SUV and GAC M8 PHEV luxury MPV alongside popular existing offerings like the GAC Emzoom.
First previewed locally by WTCA back in Feb2 2024, local assembly (CKD) for the model officially commenced recently at TCMA Segambut, KL. Pre-bookings are now opened too with estimated price tags of RM120,000 (Premium) and RM130,000 (Premium Pro).
Also opened for pre-bookings, the GAC M8 PHEV commands an estimated price tag of RM333,000 (Premium) and RM380,000 (Luxury).

The electrified GAC M8 PHEV MPV, on the other hand, is also opened for pre-bookings currently. Promising class-leading combined driving range of 1,038 KM, there are two variants also on offer with estimated price tags of RM333,000 (Premium) and RM380,000 (Luxury).
Additionally, GAC Malaysia confirmed both Datuk Remy and Jack Lim will be amongst the earliest to own the Emkoo in Malaysia. The firm adds said C-SUV offering is poised to see deliveries commence by end of Sept 2025 at the earliest.
