Launched: 2025 BYD Seal – 2 Variants, DiSus-C, From RM171,800
The revised 2025 BYD Seal range was revealed locally earlier today.

The BYD Seal has been updated locally with a revised 2025 model year iteration launched earlier today. The updated EV saloon was revealed by distributors Sime Darby Beyond Auto at the newly opened BYD 3S Centre Balakong operated by dealers Wing Hin Ventures (Wing Hin Group).
As noted prior from the model’s initial online teaser, there are a host of minor changes inside and out. The range has been streamlined with two variants, those being the extended range Premium and all-wheel-drive (AWD) Performance guises.
The previously available base Dynamic guise has been dropped, with BYD citing customer preference for the higher-specced models as a key reason for its axing.

The updated 2025 BYD Seal was revealed at the newly opened BYD 3S Centre Balakong operated by dealers Wing Hin Ventures (Wing Hin Group).

Starting with exterior changes, there are now new 19-inch alloy wheels for both variants, followed by new red-painted brake calipers for the Performance variant exclusively. Fresh here too is a newly added Shark Grey paintjob option.
On board, the most prominent update here is the addition of a powered sunshade function for the panoramic sunroof. Other new additions on board include a newly added sunglasses holder, as well as new mobile phone Bluetooth key function.
Mechanically, both variants have gained a new adaptive suspension suite. Specifically, they’re now brimmed with BYD’s DiSus-C continuous damping control system – the same tech primed in the Denza D9 luxury EV MPV.

The range-topping 2025 BYD Seal Performance pictured is easily distinguished by its red-painted calipers.
What continues unchanged are the both the battery and drivetrain. Starting with the former, both variants share an 82.5 kWh ‘Blade’ LFP pack that accepts both 7 kW AC and up to 150 kW DC charging inputs as before.
Whilst here, we’ll also note that vehicle-to-load (V2L) function continues to be available too. As for charging times, a full-charge (0-100%) via AC charging takes 15.2 hours, whereas DC fast-charging see 10-80% re-charges done in just 37 minutes.

Exterior changes are mild so to speak, but does see new 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels across the board.

Moving to drivetrain, the Seal Premium features a rear-mounted e-motor outputting 308 HP and 360 NM to the rear wheels (RWD), whilst the Seal Performance rocks a dual-motor setup that drives all four wheels (AWD) with 523 HP and 670 NM.
Obviously, the Seal Premium offers the best range, with BYD touting the variant being able to cover up to 570 KM WLTP (or 650 KM NEDC). This variant also despatches 0-100 KM/H sprints in a respectable 5.9 secs too.
Aptly, the Seal Performance stands as the quickest of the duo, promising 0-100 KM/H dashes in just 3.8 secs. Naturally, this comes at the price of range, and this performance range-topper can cover up to 520 KM WLTP (or 580 KM NEDC).
Unchanged is the 82.5 kWh LFP 'Blade' battery pack capacity, and both its 7 kW AC and 150 kW DC charging speeds.

On board, the only new changes to note is a newly added sunglasses holder plus an improved glass roof that now boasts a powered shade function.

Moving on to safety and driver assistance, and the updated 2025 BYD Seal continues to offer nine airbags, plus a full-fledged ADAS suite that brings a high degree of semi-autonomous driving abilities.
Lastly, price, and there’s an interesting revision here. Unlike before, the 2025 BYD Seal sees prices now lowered by RM8,000. In turn, this sees the 2025 BYD Seal Premium variant command RM171,800, whilst the 2025 BYD Seal Performance starts at RM191,800.

Unchanged though are after-sales coverage, which includes a 6-year or 150,000 KM vehicle warranty, 8-year or 160,000 KM battery warranty, plus an 8-year or 150,000 KM drive unit warranty.
Typical of BYD, the first 300 customers benefit with an early bird launch promotion package worth up to RM10,888. Included in which is a wallbox charger plus a special rebate and free service package.
