Launched: Yadea Velax e-Scooter– 105 KM Range, RM7,099

MForce Bike Holdings Berhad has expanded its electric scooter lineup by debuting the new Yadea Velax e-scooter.
Local motorcycle distribution giant MForce Bike Holdings Berhad (MForce) has expanded its electric scooter lineup by debuting the new Yadea Velax. This all-electric scooter is now available for purchase in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM7,099, excluding road tax, insurance, or registration.
Inclusive with said price is a standard 2-year or 20,000 km warranty, and eligible buyers can also get up to RM2,400 in rebates under the MARiiCas EV bike adoption incentive.

Powering the Velax e-scooter is a 2 kW electric motor that can deliver a peak power of 3.2 kW and up to 172 Nm of torque that enables a governed top speed of 62 km/h. Two ride modes are available for the Velax, namely Sport and Eco, and there is also a reverse gear function.
Juice is provided by a 72-volt Ah LFP battery that grants the scooter up to 105 km of range, while the pack takes about eight hours to be fully charged, or six hours from 0 to 80%. Yadea claims that both the motor and battery boast an IP7X water resistance rating, enabling it to wade through water up to 300 mm deep and be submerged in water for up to 30 minutes.

In terms of design, the Yadea Velax boasts a typical compact step-through scooter bodystyle, with three colour options available, namely Black, Blue, and Grey. Some key equipment present here includes full LED headlights and taillights, front and rear disc brakes with Combined Braking System (CBS), 14-inch wheels with 90/90 front tyres and 100/90 rear tyres, and many more.

Despite being small, the Velax gets a pretty decent level of practicality and amenities, including a sizable underseat compartment, one USB-A charging port, a storage pocket in the front cowl of the bike, a hazard light switch, a side-stand safety switch, plus the Yadea mobile app integration with smart ride monitoring.
