Mugen Transforms the Honda N-One e: Into a Sporty JDM Hot-Hatch

Transform the cutesy Honda N-One e: EV into a mean, sporty JDM hot-hatch with Mugen’s new upgrade kit.
Since making its global debut, the new Honda N-One e: EV hatch has garnered rave receptions among the public, especially for its compact and cutesy design. However, that may change once and for all, as renowned tuning house Mugen has unveiled its upgrade kit for this model, transforming it from a cutesy kei EV into a proper, mean-looking JDM hot-hatch.

The upgrade kit comprises an exterior aero kit and some interior accessories, as well as a performance damper kit for this kei EV hatch. We’ll start with the former, where the Mugen aero kit includes a more aggressive front splitter, side skirts, and a compact rear diffuser—all finished in matte black.

To match this sporty aero kit, Mugen has also given the N-One e: a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels, plus a roof-mounted rear spoiler to give an extra edge to this petite EV hatch. For extra street cred, Mugen has also dressed the EV hatch with special decals featuring its iconic letterings and emblems, including a chrome-finished Mugen logo on the front fenders.

As for the accessories, most of them are located inside the N-One, which include things like branded scuff plates and door cubbies, as well as tailored Mugen floor mats, plus a matching cover for the boot space.
Not to forget, the accessories upgrade also includes some practical touches like the Mugen-branded window visors and hydrophilic mirror coatings designed to improve wet-weather visibility.

More importantly, the Mugen upgrade kit for the N-One e: also includes a mechanical upgrade coming in the form of a new performance damper setup. While not many details were given about this kit for now, we can expect it to provide more responsive handling to the EV hatch, especially when coupled with its larger wheels. That said, this kit could also provide some additional aesthetics, possibly lowering the overall stance of the car to make it look like a proper sporty JDM hot-hatch.
Predictably, no upgrades were given on both its battery and motor setups, as the Mugen-kitted N-One e: still gets the same 63 hp-rated stock electric motor and a small battery pack that is good for up to 270 km of WLTP range.

The new Mugen upgrade kit for the Honda N-One e: will be available in Japan starting autumn 2025, with pricing set to be announced closer to their market launch. As for the EV itself, the N-One e: is slated to make its first market debut outside of Japan at the upcoming Munich Motor Show 2025 (IAA Mobility).
