Caricarz Automall Sunday Car Market Returns Sept 21 After Strong Debut

After a successful first run in July, Caricarz Automall is bringing back its Sunday Car Market on Sept 21, 2025.
Like before, the event will be held at Caricarz’s 180,000-square-feet facility, located at Level 3A Carpark, The Strand Mall, Kota Damansara. The event runs from 9AM to 6PM, and remains free for both buyers and sellers.

The initiative was launched in response to Malaysia’s growing car debt crisis, with nearly 39% of car owners stuck in negative equity, owing more than their cars are worth. On average, the shortfall sits at RM29,000, while 44% of recent buyers since 2022 have been saddled with inflated loans.
Caricarz Automall founder and CEO James Goh had previously noted that the Sunday Car Market offers an alternative to lowball trade-in deals.

“Traditional dealerships take advantage of owners under pressure, forcing them into worse financial situations. Our model keeps sellers in control, ensures transparency, and often results in better outcomes,” he explained.

One such example cited involved a BMW 630i GT with a RM150,000 outstanding loan. Dealers offered just RM130,000, leaving the seller in debt. Through Caricarz Automall, the car sold for RM160,000 after fees, turning what could have been a RM20,000 loss into a RM10,000 surplus.

The Sunday Car Market is designed to give sellers face-to-face access with buyers in a safe environment. Owners keep their cars with them during the event, field offers directly, and can close deals on the spot.
If a vehicle doesn’t sell, owners can opt into Caricarz Automall’s consignment program, where its team manages viewings, negotiations, paperwork, loan processing, and ownership transfer.

The second edition of the event is expected to feature over 100 vehicles and attract upwards of 300 visitors. Services such as vehicle inspections, detailing, and ownership transfer processing will be available on-site, alongside light refreshments.
