Mercedes-Benz C-Class EV Teased with GLC EQ’s Front Grille

Mercedes-Benz has shown the first teaser image of its upcoming C-Class EV during the new GLC EV launch.
Besides launching the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology, Mercedes-Benz also took the centre stage at the IAA Mobility 2025 show to unveil the first official teaser image of the upcoming, all-electric version of the C-Class sedan.

From the single darkened image of the car, we can straight away tell that the new C-Class EV will get the same design cues primed on both the GLC EQ and the CLA EQ, with the biggest highlight being its large ‘Iconic Grille.’ As detailed in its SUV twin, customers can get this front grille illuminated with hundreds of tiny LEDs, which will definitely make the new C-Class EV stand out over its Bavarian rival.
Besides the new nose, the teaser image also reveals that the C-Class EV will get the same star-shaped LED DRLs as both the GLC and CLA EVs, while its overall proportion and shape look somewhat similar to the current combustion-powered C-Class.

That said, we’ve been told that the new C-Class EV won’t be sharing many parts from its ongoing combustion twin, as it will underpin the same MB.EA platform as the GLC EQ. This means that we can expect the saloon to get the same 800-volt architecture with a large 94-kWh NMC battery pack as its SUV twin, which can support up to 300 kW DCFC.

What’s more impressive is that Mercedes-Benz promises up to 800 km of driving range for the new C-Class EV, perhaps in a bid to go against its upcoming Bavarian rival, the new Neue Klasse-based BMW i3.

Further technical specs on this EV saloon remain scarce for now, but given how close it resembles the new GLC EQ, it is not far-fetched to expect that it will get the same equipment and tech as the SUV. More importantly, numerous reports also suggest that the saloon will be badged as the C-Class with EQ Technology, following the same naming scheme as both the GLC and CLA EVs.
With its first official teaser now out, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class EV is set to debut sometime later in 2026, which may coincide with the debut of its Bavarian rival, the BMW i3 Neue Klasse.
