After more than a decade’s absence, Proton has returned to neighbouring Singapore. Notably, Proton has also elected to revive its presence across the Causeway with its groundbreaking first EV model the e.MAS 7.

Just like in Malaysia, the e.MAS 7 is offered in Singapore across two variants – Prime and Premium – giving buyers a choice of battery sizes and performance levels. The Prime is equipped with a 49.52 kWh battery delivering up to 345 km WLTP-rated range, while the Premium features a larger 60.22 kWh battery with a 410 km range.

Both share an 11 kW AC charging input and a front-mounted 12-in-1 electric motor producing 214 hp and 320 Nm, capable of accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 175 km/h.

Proton offers six exterior colours in Singapore: Lithium White, Turquoise Green, Slate Grey, Platinum Silver, Quartz Rose, and Moyu Black, while the cabin can be customised with two interior colourways, Indigo Blue and Alabaster White, giving the e.MAS 7 a modern and premium feel.

To mark its return, Proton introduced a 99-unit ‘Founders Edition’ limited-run special. This comes with a SG$20,000 (RM66,000) rebate. Otherwise, the e.MAS 7 is priced in Singapore at SG$175,899 (RM577,000) for the Prime and SG$179,899 (RM590,000) for the Premium.

Early buyers will also enjoy a 10-year unlimited-mileage battery warranty, five years of free data roaming across Singapore and Malaysia, and cross-border warranty coverage for added peace of mind.

For comparison, the e.MAS 7 launched last year in Malaysia at RM109,800 (SG$33,000) for the Prime and RM123,800 (SG$38,000) for the Premium.

The pricing in Singapore reflects the inclusion of a Cat-B COE of around SG$137,000, showing how Proton has positioned the model competitively while accounting for local taxes.
