SIB Mili Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Sapura Industrial Berhad, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sarawak Skills Development Centre to support the growth of Sarawak’s electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid ecosystem.

The agreement will see the establishment of a new EV and Hybrid Service Centre in Kuching, designed to serve as both a hub for servicing electrified vehicles and a platform for technical training and certification.

SIB Mili, through its MILI EV Hybrid brand, specialises in EV and hybrid servicing, training, and battery lifecycle management including repair, refurbishment and repurposing.

Its expertise will complement Sarawak Skills’ technical training programmes to develop accredited courses, expand Train-the-Trainer initiatives and grow the pool of certified technicians in the state.

“Through this partnership, we are proud to expand our capabilities in EV and hybrid technologies,” said En Hallman Sabri, Executive Director of Sarawak Skills. “This initiative positions Sarawak to embrace the future of mobility with high-quality training and hands-on exposure for the next generation of technicians.”

En Mohd Farid Abd Manaf, Founder and Head of Technical at SIB Mili, said the collaboration is about more than just technology. “By pairing our expertise with Sarawak Skills’ training, we are building both the infrastructure and workforce to drive Malaysia’s EV ecosystem.”

For Sapura Industrial Berhad, the collaboration reflects its commitment to move beyond automotive components manufacturing into advanced technologies and sustainable mobility, while reinforcing its role as a growth partner in Malaysia’s evolving automotive sector.
