Starting July, vehicle owners with unpaid fines for three types of summonses issued by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will be blacklisted and barred from conducting transactions with the department.

These summonses include Automated Awareness Safety System (AWAS) summonses (53A), Interview Notices (114), and Fixed Notice Summonses (115).

JPJ Director-General, Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, stated that stricter measures would be enforced after the special compound offer, which began earlier this month, ends on June 30. Under this offer, fines for the three offenses can be settled at a flat rate of RM150.

He warned that offenders who fail to pay will face transaction restrictions, including the inability to renew their driving licenses or road tax, until their fines are cleared.

Currently, there are over two million outstanding summonses, although RM12.5 million in fines, covering 83,000 cases, has been collected since the campaign started. Datuk Aedy urged the public to take advantage of the flat-rate offer announced by MOT Minister Anthony Loke recently, emphasizing that JPJ is not actively pursuing offenders but is providing an opportunity for them to settle their fines.

Payments can be made at JPJ counters or via the MyJPJ application.
