Lekas Highway To Close This Weekend For Cycling Event
The Kajang–Seremban Expressway (E21) will be closed to traffic from 5PM on October 11 (Sat) until 4AM on Oct 12 (Sun) to make way for the RHB LEKAS Highway Ride 2025.
According to Lebuhraya Kajang–Seremban Sdn Bhd, the highway operator, this year’s event will see 6,017 cyclists from 23 countries taking part.
LEKAS Chief Executive Officer Ts. Hajah Wan Salwani binti Wan Yusoff said all required approvals have been secured from the Ministry of Works (MOW) and the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) for the full road closure.
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has endorsed the event’s traffic management plan, while the Malaysian Sports Commissioner has given official sanction for the ride.
“LEKAS has obtained all necessary approvals from the Ministry of Works (MOW) and the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) to serve as the venue sponsor, as well as endorsement from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for the traffic management plan covering the full road closure
"Approval has also been secured from the Malaysian Sports Commissioner to organise this cycling event,” she said.
She added that nine interchanges, covering about 20 entry and exit points, will be temporarily closed to ensure smooth and safe passage for cyclists.

The affected stretch runs from the Kajang Selatan Interchange to the Paroi Junction.
Motorists are advised to plan their travel in advance, follow on-ground traffic instructions, and use alternative routes during the closure.
