Next-Gen Toyota Hilux Teased Ahead of Nov 10 Debut
Toyota Motor Thailand has published a short teaser video on the next-gen Hilux ahead of its debut later on Nov 10, 2025.
After a series of rumours and rendered images, Toyota Motor Thailand has just announced the launch date of the new, ninth-gen Toyota Hilux, which will take place later on Nov 10, 2025. Ahead of its global debut, the automaker has published a teaser video of the new Hilux, thus giving us a first-time glance at this next-gen pick-up truck.

From the video, we can see that the new Hilux gets the same design cues seen in many modern Toyotas of late, with the biggest highlight being its sharp LED headlights with C-shaped DRLs. We can also see the truck rocks a new front grille design with Toyota lettering at the centre instead of a normal badge, thus making it look similar to its North American cousin, the Toyota Tacoma.

The C-shaped design element continues at the rear, where the new Hilux gets slim vertical LED taillights with C-shaped DRLs. That said, given how shadow-draped the whole teaser video is, there’s nothing much we can derive.

Prior to this teaser video, it seems the next-gen Hilux's interior design patent drawing had leaked online, where it featured a more modern front dash setup that mirrors the brand’s other newer SUVs like the Land Cruiser 250 and the Rav4.

Despite being billed as a next-gen model, several spy shots and rumours have shown that the new Hilux will get the same door and roof panels as the ongoing model, as it would still underpin a carryover ladder-frame platform with some key updates. This is in contrast to its stateside twin, which underpins the same TNGA-F platform as the new Toyota Land Cruiser 250.

With the upgraded platform, we can also expect the new Hilux to get the same 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine that has been upgraded to comply with the stricter Euro 5 and Euro 6 emissions standards. Depending on the market, we can also see the pick-up truck being offered with a mild hybrid (MHEV) option, just like what Toyota did in Australia, the UK, and Europe.
That said, it also remains unclear whether the new Hilux will get both the 2.4-litre turbodiesel and 2.7-litre nat-asp petrol engine options for its next-gen redux. But more importantly, there’s a chance that the ninth-gen model will get a full battery electric (BEV) version, given the previous rumour that the Hilux Revo BEV concept might go into production.
