Chery Exeed ES7 GT & ES8 Shooting Brake Duo Revealed in China

Chery’s Exeed brand has revealed their new shooting brake duo, named the Exeed ES7 GT and Exeed ES8.
Chery’s Exeed brand unveiled several new models during its Exeed Brand Night in Beijing yesterday, including its new EV shooting brake duo, the ES7 GT and ES8. Set to debut sometime in 2026, these two sleek estates will feature some of the brand’s latest innovations, including its Falcon 900 level 3 autonomous driving, as well as the Chery Rhino S solid-state battery.

We’ll start with the smaller ES7 GT, which will be positioned as Exeed’s first shooting brake model once it debuts next year. Initially previewed at the Auto Guangzhou 2025 motor show, the ES7 GT looks like a long-roofed wagon version of the marque’s current four-door GT saloon model, the Exeed Exlantix ES.

Up front, the ES7 GT gets the same signature Exeed design language seen on its sedan twin, featuring a clean front face with full-width LED DRL, a grill-less front bumper with a wide lower air intake, and C-shaped LED accents around the vertical side air vents.

From the side, we can see that the ES7 GT gets a sleek, long-roofed wagon bodystyle with subtly-flared wheel arches, flushed door handles, roof rails, and large 21-inch five-spoke semi-enclosed wheels. Unlike classic wagons, the ES7 GT’s D-pillars slope into the rear part like a fastback, which is then paired with a roof-mounted spoiler and a simple full-width LED taillight bar.

On board, the ES7 GT gets the same minimalist cabin layout seen on other Exeed models, with the biggest highlight being the large 15.6-inch central infotainment screen complemented by a smaller 12.3-inch digital metre cluster. Other features primed here include semi-bucket front seats, a leather trim option with faux carbon fibre panels and red accents, a 50-watt wireless charger, and more.
As reported by CarNewsChina, the ES7 GT will be available in a range-extender (EREV) form with three electric motors that can accelerate this shooting brake from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. No details were given regarding its battery setup, although Exeed is confident that it can reach a comprehensive range of up to 1,700 km while being able to support 1,000-volt ultra-fast charging ability.

Exeed ET8 Shooting Brake
Next in line is the ES8, which also sports a sleek shooting brake wagon bodystyle, although it is positioned as a slightly larger twin to the ES7 GT. Unlike its smaller twin, the ES8 also adopts the same design language seen on other Exeed models.

From the limited-angle images, we can see that the ES8 also rocks a grill-less front face with a near full-width interactive LED bar, an illuminated Exeed logo, a trapezoidal lower air intake, vertical side vents, and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit. Also primed here are the digital side-view mirror cameras, flushed door handles, semi-enclosed alloy wheels, and a sleek wagon bodystyle that Exeed claims to boast a low drag coefficient of 0.22 Cd.

Inside, it seems that the ES8 will also be getting the same minimalist interior setup as the ES7 GT, which features the same 15.6-inch central infotainment screen that is powered by a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip and Huawei HarmonyOS.

Details regarding the ES8’s powertrain setup are quite scarce, but we’ve been told that it will get a full battery electric (BEV) setup with two motors and rear-wheel steering. More importantly, the ES8 will also become Exeed’s first model to be equipped with a solid-state battery, which could potentially grant the wagon up to 1,000 km of pure electric range.
As of now, no solid timeline was given regarding the launch dates for both the ES7 GT and ES8, although CarNewsChina reported that the former will be launched in ten months’ time, while the latter will be launched within the next 20 months.
