Auto Guangzhou 2025: Chery iCar V27 REEV Revealed With Up To 1,000 KM Range

This week, another one of China’s largest domestic auto expos opens its doors in the Guangzhou region – known as Auto Guangzhou 2025. Making its debut public appearance here is the new iCar V27 – the Chery sub-brand’s first extended-range EV (REEV) offering.
As a refresher, what’s marketed as 'iCar' domestically in China by Chery is instead marketed as ‘iCaur’ in most of its overseas markets – Malaysia included. In other words, we might see this new mid-to-large-sized electrified premium SUV make landfall.

Before that, the iCar V27 REEV is poised to enter its domestic Chinese home market first sometime in the first quarter (Q1) of next year (2026) where it is expected to command a price tag raging between RMB200,000 and RM300,000 (RM116,657 and RM174,986).
Visually, the iCar V27 features a narrow grille design flanked by square headlamps with distinct circular lighting signature. Rugged touches up front include a silver-finshed skid plate primed in the front bumper.

Down the side, the iCar V27 mirrors its smaller V23 sibling that we sampled recently by boasting a muscular and squared profile. Other familiar V23-derived design cues present also include the windows and large C/D pillar sub-assembly.
Notably, there’s a “functional module” on the front side that integrates both NFC detection and camera modules. Size-wise, the V27 reportedly sits 4,909 MM long with a 2,910 MM wheelbase, 1,967 MM wide and 1,855 MM tall sans any optional additions.

At a glance, the iCar V27 does mirror the styling seen in the smaller (and fully electric) V23 model that we sampled not too long ago.

On board, the iCar V27 retains the sub-brand’s “family-oriented” interior design with several key refinements. Primed here is a floating central touchscreen, wireless charging pad in the centre armrest, drive mode selector knob, and some physical buttons.
Notably, the touchscreen mentioned serves as the sole display with the instrumentation is also integrated into which. At the rear, the cabin offers seating for three and even comes brimmed with dedicated climate vents.
On board, the iCar V27 also sees its cabin styling mirror the V23's, albeit with several minor refinements.

Over to powertrain, the iCar V27 merges both a 1.5-litre turbo petrol mill rated at 105 kW (140 PS) with an e-motor. Sources report both rear- (RWD) and all-wheel- drive (AWD) options are readied, the latter offering peak outputs of 335 kW (449 PS).
Critically, even under loose CLTC-standards, Chery touts the iCar V27 boasting up to 200 KM of electric range. The parent firm also reportedly projects the V27 being capable of yielding a combined petrol-electric range of over 1,000 KM too.
Chinese sources online further reports that Chery could introduce a higher-end version in the near future brimmed with a LiDAR sensor with top-shelf Horizon Robotics chip.

Further reports by Chinese sources online indicates that the sub-brand could release an even higher-end variant of the V27 in the near future – one brimmed with a trick LiDAR sensor plus a top-shelf Horizon Robotics chip, altogether enabling self-driving abilities.
We were able to size up the iCar V27 REEV last month during the Chery International User Summit 2025 held at the automaker’s headquarters in Wuhu. You can view more images from which via the gallery prepared below.
