The partnership deepens the industry-level ties between PLUS and KEC through enhanced knowledge exchange, faster innovation and the advancement of next-generation highway technologies. It also reflects a shared commitment to elevate expressway performance through smart mobility solutions and sustainable practices.
The MoU was signed by KEC President Ham Jin-Gyu and PLUS Managing Director Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar during the ‘20th ITS Asia Pacific Forum 2025’ in Suwon, with senior leaders from both organisations present to reinforce the significance of the collaboration.

Datuk Nik Airina said the partnership represents a joint effort to redefine expressway management while improving user experience. She highlighted that both organisations will explore technologies such as intelligent road-surface monitoring, AI-driven camera systems and next-generation tolling.
These initiatives aim to deliver safer, smoother and more environmentally friendly journeys for highway users.
The cooperation also covers the development of Intelligent Transport Systems, sustainable highway infrastructure and strengthened workforce capabilities. With combined expertise, PLUS and KEC aim to set new benchmarks in operational efficiency, infrastructure resilience and customer satisfaction.
Through this strengthened relationship, both nations are better equipped to address future mobility needs and raise standards in expressway innovation, performance and user-focused service.
