SCS Adopts Advanced European Testing Systems

SCS Test Solution Sdn Bhd is stepping up Malaysia’s vehicle inspection landscape by introducing advanced testing technology from the Netherlands, bringing European-level precision to local pre-test and repair services.

The company has adopted VL Test (VLT) systems, which replicate real-world driving conditions and deliver highly accurate diagnostic data. According to SCS managing director Gan Kok Leong, this allows vehicles to be properly assessed and repaired before being sent to the official computerised inspection centres.

With VLT’s technology, issues such as brake imbalance, suspension misalignment and other hidden faults can be detected — problems that often go unnoticed during standard visual checks. SCS also offers on-the-spot repairs, helping drivers ensure their vehicles meet inspection requirements and remain roadworthy.

Gan noted that regular computerised testing plays a critical role in road safety. Commercial vehicles in Malaysia are required to undergo inspections every six months, while e-hailing vehicles are tested annually at official inspection centres.

Founded in 2019, SCS operates as a one-stop automated testing and repair hub, serving private vehicle owners, fleet operators, logistics firms and e-hailing drivers. Its collaboration with VLT represents a key milestone as the company looks to broaden its capabilities.

VLT commercial product manager Mark Van Ierland said the Dutch firm brings more than 65 years of experience in supplying vehicle testing equipment globally, serving governments, private inspection centres, workshops, fleet operators and public transport providers.

He added that VLT’s systems are designed to accurately simulate real road conditions with consistent and repeatable results. Durability is another focus, with many installations remaining operational for over 25 years when properly maintained.

Van Ierland also highlighted that VLT’s latest sixth-generation equipment is fully integrated with modern IT platforms, enabling real-time data access, automated reporting and over-the-air updates to support evolving regulations and new vehicle technologies in Malaysia.
