Toyota TR010 Hybrid Le Mans Hypercar Unveiled with No GR Branding

The newly-unveiled Toyota TR010 Hybrid Le Mans Hypercar looks stunning, but without any of the iconic GR branding.
Toyota is gearing up for the upcoming 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season by unveiling its latest Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) contender, aptly named Toyota TR010 Hybrid. Besides its new design and a retro-inspired livery, this hypercar does look quite different from its predecessor, as it does not carry any of Gazoo Racing’s (GR) branding or name.

This latest restrategising will see Gazoo Racing become a standalone brand, while Toyota's top-flight racing department will be named TOYOTA RACING.
That is because the automaker has taken a step to separate the Toyota Gazoo Racing brand from its top-tier racing division, with the former becoming a standalone brand simply known as Gazoo Racing, focusing on high-performance road cars such as the upcoming Toyota GR GT and many more.

Taking effect from Jan 7 onwards, Toyota’s Europe-based racing division from now on will be rebranded to TOYOTA RACING GmbH. This also means that Toyota’s entries into the FIA WEC this year will no longer compete under the GR banner, with the TOYOTA RACING name taking its place instead.

Despite this separation, the Gazoo Racing brand would still be active in Toyota’s other motorsport ventures like rallying, customer racing, and their newly-announced involvement in Formula One (F1) as the official title sponsor for the Haas F1 Team.

Back to the new TR010, this Le Mans racer does look quite different from its predecessor, the GR010, and that’s not entirely due to the omission of the GR branding. The new hypercar looks sharper, featuring design cues inspired by the new GR GT, notably its front face with sharp headlights, full-width taillights, more aggressive aero bits, and more.

As for the livery itself, the TR010 ditches the GR010’s black-white-red tricolour for a new red base, with its white-hued graphic decals inspired by the Toyota GT-ONE TS020 that raced in the 1998 Le Mans endurance race.
Toyota has yet to disclose whether the TR010 receives any upgrades on its powertrain setup, so it is safe to assume that this LMH contender is still powered by the same 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged hybrid V6 powertrain setup with a front-axle electric motor seen on the outgoing GR010. That said, its power would still be kept at 671 hp (500 kW), as per WEC’s regulations for its top-class Hypercar entries.

The all-new TOYOTA RACING TR010 Hybrid hypercar is still months away from making its racing debut, as the 2026 season of the FIA WEC will only start later in March at the Lusail International Circuit for the Qatar 1,812 KM season opener.
