TQ Wuling Bingo Rolls Out at Segambut Assembly Plant

TQ Wuling has officially started local assembly (CKD) of its Bingo EV city car hatch at Tan Chong Group’s Segambut plant, marking an important milestone for the brand and Malaysia’s electric vehicle industry.
The Segambut facility, known for its strong manufacturing track record and ISO certifications, combines TQ Wuling’s global EV expertise with Tan Chong’s decades of local automotive production experience. The Bingo EV is the first electric vehicle to be assembled at the plant.

CKD production allows TQ Wuling to scale output according to market demand while ensuring stable supply, consistent quality, and operational efficiency. Local assembly also enables the company to tailor vehicles to Malaysian driving conditions and consumer preferences, while contributing to the government’s EV industrialisation agenda through the development of local supply chains and skilled talent.

“The commencement of local assembly represents far more than a model launch. It reflects our long-term investment and confidence in Malaysia as a key market and production base,” said Wan Wei Sun, Head of Business, TQ Manufacturing Sdn Bhd. “By combining SGMW’s global EV capabilities with Tan Chong’s manufacturing heritage, we are building trust through quality and strengthening the local ecosystem.”

The locally assembled Bingo EV is available in two variants, the Pro and Max, with on-the-road prices starting at RM62,800 following a RM5,000 rebate. Early customers also benefit from comprehensive battery and drive motor warranties, among other perks.
With CKD production now underway, TQ Wuling is reinforcing Malaysia’s growing EV manufacturing ecosystem. The company has however not yet confirmed when deliveries of the locally assembled units will begin.
