The TQ Wuling Bingo EV was officially launched earlier today with two variants on offer - base Pro and higher-end Max.

Previewed twice – including a key appearance at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025) -  the TQ Wuling Bingo EV has officially launched in Malaysia earlier today. Notably, this electric supermini is charged and ready to go up against the Proton e.MAS 5.

The latter comes courtesy of a special rebate offered by TQ Wuling Malaysia – a subsidiary of Tan Chong Motor Holdings – worth RM5,000. With it, both the base Pro and higher-end Max variants launched today are attractively priced at RM62,800 and RM67,800 respectively.

Thanks to a special rebate worth RM5,000, the TQ Wuling Bingo EV is accessibly priced from RM62,800 onwards - regular RRP reads from RM67,800 onwards.

Otherwise, the actual RRP for this EV supermini reads at RM67,800 (Pro) and RM72,800 (Max). Included in said prices is an 8-year or 120,000 KM EV battery warranty and an 8-year or 160,000 KM drive unit warranty.

For reference, the comparable Proton e.MAS 5 mentioned bear RRPs that read at RM59,800 (Prime) and RM72,800 (Premium) excluding rebates.

In terms of footprint, the TQ Wuling Bingo EV is indeed tiny - it's comparable to the Perodua Axia on this front, thus making it a 'supermini' of sorts.

We’ve detailed the TQ Wuling Bingo EV at length prior, but it’s worth refreshing your memory that it is positioned as a small-sized zero emissions 'city car'. In terms of size, it sits 3,9950 mm long with a 2,560 mm wheelbase, 1,708 mm wide and 1,580 mm tall.

In other words, this supermini’s size is much closer to the Perodua Axia. Versus the Proton mentioned, this TQ Wuling offering is indeed smaller, and this is evident through the fact it can only seat four occupants on board.

The front e-motor drives the front wheels with 68 PS and 150 Nm, offering four selectable drive-modes to boot too - Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sport.

What really separates the two variants apart are their respective battery sizes and subsequent range figures. In base Pro guise, the Bingo EV packs a 31.9 kWh battery pack whilst the Max guise adopts a slightly larger 37.9 kWh pack instead.

Only CLTC range figures of 333 KM (Pro) and 410 KM (Max) were touted officially – or roughly 273 KM and 337 KM respectively when converted to WLTP standards. We’ll remind you again that this supermini serves as a ‘city car’, hence the short ranges.

Both 7 kW AC and up to 50 kW DC charging speeds were touted, the latter allowing the 31.9 kWh (Pro) and 37.9 kWh (Max) packs to re-charge from 30-80% via the latter in under 35 minutes.

As for charging speeds and times, both LFP-type packs share the same 7 kW AC and up to 50 kW DC inputs, the latter allowing for 30-80% re-charge times under 35 minutes. Full charges (0-100%) via the former takes about 4.5 hours (Pro) and 5.5 hours (Max).

Shared across both is a single front-mounted e-motor driving the front wheels with 68 PS and 150 Nm. No performance figures were officially touted, though there are four selectable drive modes on offer – Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sport.

Though it seats just four occupants, the cabin of the TQ Wuling Bingo EV is both respectably posh and richly equipped.

As for basic amenities, highlights across both include keyless entry and ignition, dual 10.25-inch digital displays with the infotainment half bringing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, perforated faux leather upholstery, and a power-adjustable driver seat.

Other conveniences and novelties include a rotary drive selector knob, electronic parking brake (EPB) with auto-hold function, dedicated USB port for aftermarket dashcams brimmed in the rear-view mirror, as well as a reverse camera function.

Split-folding rear seats plus removable boot floor bins present also help bolster this EV supermini's versatility and practicality.

Before you ask, no, the TQ Wuling Bingo EV is not equipped with high-tech ADAS functions. It does however come brimmed with a blind-spot warning (BSW) and a ‘Low-Speed Pedestrian Alarm’ at the very least.

Thankfully, basic safety is covered well thanks to the adoption of six airbags, ISOFIX childseat anchors, ABS with EBD, stability control, as well as a tyre pressure monitor (TPMS) suite, amongst other things. In short, this total package rather basic.

Brimmed too are dual 10.25-inch digital displays, with the infotainment half bringing both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity too.

Locally built (CKD) at the Tan Chong Motor Assemblies (TCMA) plant in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, the TQ Wuling Bingo EV comes in three exterior paint hues, all offset by a black-finished roof for a two-tone scheme.

Lastly, RM5,000 rebate and warranties of up to 8 years aside, other perks on offer for purchasing the TQ Wuling Bingo EV include a complimentary 7 kW home wallbox charger and three-pin charger units, as well as a free solar tint set, amongst others.

So, what do we reckon folks? Is this a better and more tempting EV ‘city car’ offering versus the comparable Proton e.MAS 5? Share your take in the comments below, as well as on our social media pages…
