Some key highlights include the dual-claw LED headlights, muscular fenders, vertical LED taillights, and 19-inch alloy wheels—all packaged in a boxy SUV bodystyle.Dimension-wise, the new Aion V spans 4,605 mm long, 1,876 mm wide, 1,686 mm tall and has a 2,775 mm wheelbase. This puts it in the same category as other compact EV SUVs such as the <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/03/launched-2025-byd-atto-3-ultra-unchanged-specs-price-lowered-to-rm123800" target="_blank">BYD Atto </a><a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/03/launched-2025-byd-atto-3-ultra-unchanged-specs-price-lowered-to-rm123800" target="_blank">3</a><a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/03/launched-2025-byd-atto-3-ultra-unchanged-specs-price-lowered-to-rm123800" target="_blank">,</a> the <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/03/2024-chery-omoda-e5-gets-rm27k-rebate-now-from-rm119k" target="_blank">Chery Omoda E5</a>, and the reigning <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/04/proton-emas-7-leads-asean-unity-drive-2025-from-jakarta" target="_blank">Proton e.Mas 7</a>.<img src="https://static-content-live.caricarz.com/media_library/post/17424/15226438/conversions/Caricarz-MBA-GAC-Aion-V-MAS2025-6-full.jpg" style="width: 100%;" data-media-id="15226438" alt="Caricarz-MBA-GAC-Aion-V-MAS2025-6.jpg"> While this particular model shown at GAC Aion Malaysia’s booth is locked, we can see from the clear windscreens that it sports a right-hand drive (RHD) configuration, thus indicating its readiness to debut into our local market.On the powertrain front, the second-gen Aion V is exclusively powered by a single, front-mounted e-motor rated at 201 HP (150 kW) and 240 NM, thus enabling a decent 0-100 km/H time of 7.9 seconds. Charging figures are also quite decent in the Aion V, as it supports DCFC at up to 180 kW, allowing a 30-80% charge to be completed in just 16 minutes. Should WTCA get the price right, the Aion V could potentially become a viable alternative to the likes of the aforementioned BYD Atto 3, Chery Omoda E5, and the Proton e.MAS 7.
