Reviews

Summary

The 2026 DENZA Z9GT is a fully electric luxury shooting brake offered in Malaysia as a single fully imported AWD variant. Priced at RM358,800 excluding registration, road tax and insurance, it combines a tri-motor powertrain producing 1,156 PS with a 122.49-kWh Blade Battery and 600 KM of WLTP range. The on-the-road price without insurance is RM368,690.

It comes with a six-year/150,000-KM vehicle warranty, eight-year/160,000-KM battery and drive-unit warranties, and six years of complimentary scheduled maintenance. Malaysian buyers receive Obsidian Black or Rime Gold exterior finishes with three available interior colour combinations.

Interior

Dashboard

The wide dashboard combines a 13.2-inch digital instrument display, a 17.3-inch central touchscreen and a separate 13.2-inch passenger display. Fine-grade leather, smoked wood trim and ambient lighting give the cabin an appropriately luxurious presentation.

Centre Console

The revised centre console includes repositioned physical controls, additional storage and two 50-W wireless charging pads. A column-mounted gear selector frees up more usable space between the front occupants.

Instrument Cluster

A 13.2-inch digital instrument cluster presents driving and vehicle information ahead of the driver. It is complemented by a 50-inch augmented-reality head-up display and a 9.1-inch digital rear-view mirror.

Seats

All seats receive powered adjustment, heating, ventilation and multi-point massage functions. The front seats include active side bolsters, while the two outer rear seats gain powered leg rests for a more relaxing long-distance experience.

Space

Its 3,125-MM wheelbase provides generous legroom in both rows, particularly for rear passengers. The battery creates a relatively high rear floor, although the long cabin ensures occupants still have ample room to stretch out.

Steering Functions

The 2026 model receives a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated controls for driving assistance, media and vehicle functions. Electric adjustment and memory functionality help drivers find a suitable seating position.

Storage Space

Storage is available through the glovebox, door pockets, centre-console compartments and front and rear armrests. The two armrest compartments also function as refrigerators capable of cooling drinks or warming selected items.

Cup Holders

Two cup holders are provided at the front, with another two positioned within the folding rear centre armrest.

Charging Ports

The cabin provides three 50-W wireless charging pads—two in front and one at the rear—along with USB ports for both seating rows. The vehicle also supports up to 4-KW Vehicle-to-Load functionality for powering external equipment.

Build Quality

The cabin uses leather upholstery, soft-touch surfaces, smoked wood trim and neatly integrated displays. The material selection and overall presentation place the Z9GT convincingly within the premium electric-car segment.

Boot Space

The rear boot provides 495 litres of luggage capacity through its large powered tailgate. An additional 53-litre front boot is suitable for charging cables and smaller items.

Exterior

Body Dimensions

The DENZA Z9GT measures 5,180 MM long, 1,990 MM wide and 1,490 MM tall, supported by a lengthy 3,125-MM wheelbase. It weighs approximately 2,895 KG, making it a particularly large and substantial five-door grand tourer.

Front View

Its low front end features a smooth grille-less fascia, prominent lower air channels and a wide stance. The sharply sculpted nose and twin-line lighting signature give the Z9GT a distinctive performance-oriented appearance.

Rear View

At the rear, the Z9GT receives wide hourglass-pattern LED tail lamps, a split upper spoiler and a powered tailgate. An active lower spoiler deploys at higher speeds to improve aerodynamic stability.

Headlamps

The LED projector headlamps feature a dual-line design and 108-zone Adaptive Driving Beam technology, allowing the lighting pattern to adjust around surrounding traffic.

Tail Lamps

Full-LED tail lamps stretch across the rear with a distinctive hourglass-shaped internal graphic. Vertical brake-light elements integrated into the upper spoiler further differentiate the Z9GT at night.

Side Mirror

Malaysian-specification cars use conventional exterior mirrors instead of the optional camera-based side-view system offered in selected overseas markets. Their placement complements the Z9GT’s low beltline and long shooting-brake profile.

Brakes

Ventilated disc brakes are fitted at both the front and rear, supported by electronic braking and stability systems to manage the vehicle’s substantial power and weight.

Wheels

The Z9GT rides on 20-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 225/45 R20 Continental EcoContact 7 tyres. The updated wheel design provides a suitably sporty finish without appearing overly aggressive.

Features

Active Safety

The Z9GT combines electronic stability control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping correction, tyre-pressure monitoring and intelligent all-wheel torque management. It can also maintain vehicle stability during low-grip conditions or a high-speed tyre failure.

Passive Safety

Nine airbags are fitted, covering the front occupants, both seating rows and the sides of the cabin. The Cell-to-Body battery construction also integrates the battery pack into the vehicle structure to improve body rigidity and occupant protection.

Drive Modes

Selectable driving settings adjust the power delivery, steering, regenerative braking and DiSus-A suspension behaviour. Special manoeuvring functions include Crab Walk, Pencil Compass Turn and e³ Parking assistance.

Infotainment

The 17.3-inch 2.5K central touchscreen operates through Google Automotive Services, providing integrated Google Maps, Google Assistant and downloadable applications. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also supported.

Driver Assistance

A comprehensive driver-assistance suite incorporates adaptive cruise control, lane centring, collision avoidance and automatic parking assistance. The roof-mounted LiDAR and surrounding sensors provide additional environmental awareness, although the driver remains responsible for controlling the vehicle.

Sound System

A 1,150-W Devialet audio system uses 20 speakers and Dolby Atmos surround sound. Multi-colour ambient lighting further enhances the cabin’s audio-visual experience.

Performance

Engine

Three electric motors provide a combined output of 1,156 PS or 850 KW and 1,210 NM. The front motor produces 230 KW and 430 NM, while each rear motor generates 310 KW and 400 NM.

Transmission

Each motor operates through a single-speed electric reduction drive, providing immediate power delivery without conventional gear changes.

Drivetrain

The Z9GT uses a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system with one motor at the front and two independently controlled rear motors. Its e³ platform combines torque vectoring with independent rear-wheel control and up to 20 degrees of rear-wheel steering.

Acceleration

The Z9GT completes the 0–100 KM/H sprint in 2.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 KM/H. Despite measuring over five metres long, its rear-wheel steering reduces the turning radius to just 4.62 metres.

Fuel Consumption

A 122.49-kWh second-generation Blade LFP battery provides up to 600 KM of WLTP range. Its 1,000-volt system supports up to 1,500-KW Flash Charging, allowing 10% to 70% charging in five minutes and 10% to 97% in nine minutes when a compatible charger is available. Standard AC charging is rated at 11 KW.

Comfort

Convenience

Convenience equipment includes keyless operation, powered doors and tailgate, a panoramic glass roof, digital rear-view mirror, three wireless chargers and front and rear refrigerators. A smart projection beneath the tailgate allows hands-free opening when carrying luggage.

Rear Air Vents

Four-zone automatic climate control provides independent temperature settings for the front and rear occupants. Rear passengers can manage selected climate and comfort functions through a dedicated six-inch touchscreen.

Ride Comfort

DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension continuously adjusts the ride height and damping according to driving conditions. Malaysian vehicles receive suspension tuning aligned with the European-market model, balancing long-distance comfort with improved body control.

Sound Insulation

The silent electric drivetrain, extensive cabin trim and aerodynamic body create a refined environment during relaxed driving. However, the large wheels and 2,895-KG kerb weight may still be noticeable over rougher Malaysian roads.

Wrap Up

Conclusion

The DENZA Z9GT offers an unusual combination of supercar-level acceleration, executive-car luxury and shooting-brake practicality. Its spacious cabin, extensive comfort equipment, 600-KM WLTP range and advanced chassis technology make the RM358,800 selling price appear highly competitive against established premium EVs.

Nevertheless, its very large dimensions, considerable weight and high power-based road tax may discourage some buyers. Flash Charging is also dependent on compatible infrastructure that remains limited in Malaysia. Overall, the Z9GT is a technology-focused flagship suited to buyers seeking performance and luxury without choosing a traditional European grand tourer.
