MG 5

The British-brand, MG Motor with its third release and first Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) model launched in Malaysia, the all-new MG5.

A B-segment sedan (fastback-coupe) contender, it is the largest in its class and is a rival to the Honda City and Toyota Vios.

Fully-imported (CBU - Thailand), available via SAIC Motor Malaysia (official distributor) is one variant (MG5 - MYR 93,900).

Price (OTR, w/o insurance) covers a vehicle warranty (five years/unlimited-mileage) and a powertrain warranty (seven years/unlimited-mileage).

Five exterior colours (Nuclear Yellow, Arctic White, Dynamic Red, Black Pearl, Camden Grey).

The all-new MG5 has a seamlessly-tiered and driver-tilted (14.1-degree) dashboard design, linked to a low-rising-floating centre console.

Hard-touched, it sees a single-tone (Black) colour scheme with trimmings (Diamond/Silver panels - passenger side/dash, centre console).

Centre-staged are the central and driver displays (infotainment, instrument cluster), and filling-in the layout are the air-conditioning vents (Diamond panels).

Athletically-solid and sporty, it continues the prowling-like exterior profile, emphasised by sharply-formed edges and smooth contours.

Multi-layered, the rear-end sees a fastback-coupe roofline, muscular quarter panels (disjointed-rising beltline), a ducktail spoiler (boot-lid-moulded), and a diffuser-integrated (Black - centre-slatted, Chrome - dual exhausts) bumper.

Married to the mill is an eight-speed (Continuous Variable Transmission - iCVT) automatic transmission with manual mode.

Power is transmitted to the front wheels, via a Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) setup.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 KM/H is done in 11.5 seconds.

Fuel tank is at 45-Litre capacity, and the combined fuel consumption reads at 5.7 L/100 KM.
