BYD Showroom Now Open At Sime Darby Motors Autocity, Service & Warranty Facility To Follow In March 2023

BYD as a brand has been having overwhelming growth in the Malaysian market considering it was a completely unheard of marque just months back. As announced by Andrew Basham, Sime Darby Motors Managing Director during the Atto 3 launch, “Sime Darby aims to be a leader in EV and with a view towards propelling Malaysia’s EV aspirations with BYD.”
So far the BYD Atto 3 has had over 1500 bookings with 100 vehicles successfully delivered since its launch last December. According to an internal source, all bookings would be fulfilled by the second quarter of the year. Furthermore two more models namely the BYD Seal and Dolphine would also be introduced here before the year end.

With a RM500M investment planned for BYD showroom network setup in Malaysia, the public thus far are only aware of the single showroom located at TREC KL along Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.
Caricarz recently visited the Sime Darby Motors Autocity to find an all new BYD showroom silently operating while still being in the midst of renovation. This facility is conveniently located in the Ara Damansara neighbourhood next to Tropicana and Subang.

From what we managed to gather, this facility would be fully up and running this coming Mar 2023 and also serve as BYD’s first 3S centre offering sales, service and warranty. This two story facility located behind BMW Auto Bavaria will have a decent sized showroom with a waiting area and pantry on the ground floor and a five (5) bay service centre on the second floor with a vehicle elevator.
At the BYD Ara Damansara facility, BYD owners would also have access to two (2) Wallbox AC chargers and a 180kW two gun (2x90kW) StarCharge DC charger which is FREE to use at the moment.

As per BYD’s initial plan, there would also be more 3S centres coming up in Penang and Johor before the first half of 2023 and a whole bunch of satellite showrooms conveniently located at malls and shop lots for customers ease of access.
