Launched: Aston Martin DB12 ‘Super Tourer’ – From RM1.088 Million*

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur (AMKL - Wearnes Quest Sdn Bhd) introduced the all-new Aston Martin DB12 in Malaysia earlier today. Dubbed as the world’s first ‘Super Tourer’, the DB12 stands as a continuation of Aston Martin’s signature flagship grand touring sportscar, albeit now without a V12 heart.
Though powertrain has shrunk in size, it’s still a peppy Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo unit that delivers a whopping 671 HP and 800 NM to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic box. Altogether, it enables this ‘super tourer’ to despatch 0-100 KM/H in just 3.6 seconds towards a 325 KM/H V-Max.

The new Aston Martin DB12 continues Aston Martin's DB lineage of flagship grand tourers, and it features both new and familiar design touches that the Gaydon-based sportscar marque is renowned for.

L-R: The new Aston Martin DB12 rolls on massive 21-inch forged alloy wheels. It also bears Aston Martin's updated badges.
Matching said speed and performance is an equally sorted chassis primed with an uprated electronic power steering suite, intelligent adaptive dampers, selectable drive modes including ‘Sport+’, an electronic rear diff (first in any Aston Martin), massive 400 MM (front) and 360 MM (rear) cross-drilled and slotted brake rotors, as well as bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport 5S tyres shod on each 21-inch forged alloy wheels.
The DB12 is the first production model to feature said new Michelin tyres which, as noted by Aston Martin, boast a unique compound tuned precisely to meet the British sportscar marque’s specifications – hence the AML code marking. Also, the brakes can be upgraded with optional carbon ceramic rotors that sheds 27 KG in weight and capable of withstanding up to 800 °C.

Aston Martin's newest flagship GT doesn't pack a V12, but this AMG-sourced V8 does possess meaty outputs of 671 HP and 800 NM.
In terms of styling, the DB12 sports Aston Martin’s unmistakable coupe silhouette featuring a long front end matched with a short rear overhang – a signature trait of its predecessors. New here though are the teardrop-shaped all-LED headlights flanking the massive front grille and intake, distinct new all-LED rear lights, as well as the revised Aston Martin badges.
On board, the DB12 finally looks and feels new as it ditches the old Mercedes-Benz Comand infotainment displays and interface. In their stead now are new all-digital instrumentation and central infotainment touchscreen, the latter measuring 10.25-inch and offers Apple plus Android connectivity, navigation function, voice assistant, as well as a host of 4G-enabled connectivity functions.

On board, the DB12 sports a fully revised cabin featuring all-new, all-digital displays plus a
floating centre stack.
Other notable bits here include the revised new floating centre stack, and the presence of a 11-speaker premium audio hi-fi suite that can be upgraded to a 15-speaker suite sourced from Bowers & Wilkins. Apart from that, there’s the copious amounts of hand-cut leather, soft-touch fabrics, as well as tasteful amounts of both aluminium and carbon fibre cabin trimmings.
As usual, the cabin can be fully customised to suit any and all tastes through Aston Martin’s extensive list of bespoke options. The same applies to the exterior which sees a host of new signature paint hue options added including the stunning Iridescent Emerald shade of green dressing the launch car displayed by AMKL earlier today.

Keen to commission one? The Aston Martin DB12 starts from RM1,088,000 before options, duties, taxes, and on-road costs.
Keen on this new generation British luxury super grand tourer? Keen prospects can now commission their very own Aston Martin DB12 through AMKL where it commands a base price of RM1,088,000 before options, duties, taxes, and on-road costs. Realistically, you’d best ready an estimated figure RM2.3 million at least to call one yours.
