750HP Frankenstein ENEOS Jaguar E-Type With 2JZ For SEMA 2023

Some may call it a work of art, but most will consider it blasphemous to desecrate an already unique piece of automotive history, in this case a rare and highly sought after Jaguar E-Type. CariCarz is torn between two opinions yet remains in amazement.
ENEOS Oil will display three differently modified cars at their booth at SEMA 2023, including a twin-engined Nissan 350Z, an Off-Road themed Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup, and a Frankenstein mod 1969 Jaguar XKE 2+2.

To commemorate 75 years of the manufacturer's sports car tradition, E-Type is equipped with a modified Toyota 2JZ-GTE inline-6 24-valve 3.0-liter engine directly transplanted from the Mark 4 Toyota Supra.
The Jaguar conversion embraces the spirit of transformations while also incorporating new technology to improve the legendary British sports car.
The Supra's 2JZ-GTE engine was selected as it compliments ENEOS for many years through its provision of factory-fill lubricants to the majority of Japan's auto sector.

However a stock 2JZ power plant for a project of this scale would obviously be not adequate, so Kugay leaned on his Formula DRIFT experience. A new factory head casting with Deatschwerks Injectors and a thorough Nuke Performance fuel system were among the important components used.
Internally, the engine was strengthened with CP-Carillo pistons and rods, and it was expertly lubricated with ENEOS Racing Street 0W-50 oil. This was all in preparation for the Borg Warner EFR 8474 turbocharger and Vibrant Performance Intercooler. With a Link G4 Fury ECU supplying ignition, Kugay is optimistic that the engine will produce 750 horsepower after final dynamometer tuning is completed.

Kugay recruited the experience of Charlie's Customs in England to design a high-performance car for both the street and the track. They carried out a comparable conversion and advised using the E60 BMW rear subframe, suspension, and differential. Although it wasn't a simple bolt-on, it effectively handled many of the conversion issues and enabled power delivery via an E36 BMW M3 ZF five-speed manual gearbox.
The huge boost in power over the original 4.2-liter straight-six engine demanded an outward redesign for the Jag. While the 2+2 variant's long wheelbase facilitated engine installation, the E-Type's narrow rear end needed changes to fit wider tyres. Fender flares inspired by Jaguar's Lightweight racer were built using a 3D scan obtained by Adam Bao at Illumasthetic. Ken Heilmann of Vinny's Autobody in Sonoma, CA, 3D-printed these designs and then reinforced them with carbon fibre.

With this flared out modification, the E-Type could now be fitted with a set of 17" Rotiform STL wheels that were custom-built in two sections to achieve the appropriate width and offset, similar to the original E-Type Lightweight wheels. A set of high-performance Bridgestone Potenza RE-71 RS tyres were mounted to provide optimal road and track performance, making the Jaguar equally at home on both terrains.
