360 kW Shell Recharge HPC In Genting Highlands Set To Open In 2024

Leading fuel retailer Shell Malaysia is poised to grow its Shell Recharge High-performance charging (HPC) network in Malaysia once more.
Earlier today, the firm inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Genting Malaysia Berhad for the new project, along with long-time collaborators Porsche Malaysia (SDAP – Sime Darby Auto Performance).
According to Shell, the new all-in-one charging hub will feature 10 bays in total, with four of which harnessing a 360 kW high-performance charging unit. The remaining six bays will each feature a 22 kW AC charger instead. Said hub will be established on the premises of Resort World Genting by early 2024.
This will be the latest addition to the Shell Recharge EV network that presently has 136 charging points strategically located in key cities and along highways in Peninsular Malaysia. Altogether, this network easily connects Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand for EV users.

The quickest-charging unit here promises ultra-fast charging speeds of approximately 20 minutes for 5-80% re-charges.
“Soon, EV customers from all over the country and beyond will be able to drive their way up to this premier resort without having range anxiety, experiencing a worry-free journey with our Shell Recharge network,” said Seow Lee Ming, General Manager of Shell Mobility, Malaysia.
“We are delighted to further elevate seamless charging experience for our Porsche Taycan owners, as well as other Porsche electric vehicle models on the horizon, with this new high-performance Shell Recharge 360kW DC charging hub in Resorts World Genting,” adds SDAP CEO Christopher Hunter.
This upcoming new Shell Recharge HPC hub in Genting Highlands will be accessible to EV owners via the ParkEasy mobile app. The app grants users navigation access to help locate and access charging bays. It also sees both initial reservation and idling fees will be levied on users using the service.
Since 1 Nov, Shell HPC has since switched to kWh-based charging rates for its AC chargers. The network’s DC chargers, on the other hand, will do the same starting this month beginning 15 Dec.
