PEKEMA Provides Educational Aid to 2,000 Underprivileged Students

Continuing its CSR efforts, the PEKEMA Foundation has donated school supplies to 2,000 underprivileged students.
The Malay Vehicle Importers and Dealers Association of Malaysia (PEKEMA), through its PEKEMA Foundation, has continued its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts by launching the 'Back to School 2024’ program. Through this effort, the foundation has donated essential school supplies to 2,000 selected underprivileged students.
On behalf of PEKEMA’s president, Datuk Haji Mohamed Nazari Noordin, its honorary secretary, Ahmad Faresh Ahmad Zahid, attended the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing event held at SK Changkat Jong in Teluk Intan, Perak. This ‘Back to School 2024’ campaign is an initiative of PEKEMA's CSR responsibility for 2024 to ease the burden of students from underprivileged backgrounds.

"Starting at the beginning of this year, a total of 2,000 students from underprivileged families have received donations of basic school supplies in conjunction with our Back to School 2024 Program. This is one of the CSR efforts carried out by PEKEMA aimed at easing the burden of the community's cost of living,” Ahmad Faresh said.

Besides SK Changkat Jong, the PEKEMA Foundation has also handed out school supplies to three other schools in the Perak Hilir district of Perak, with said campaign will also involve other parts of the country, including Sabah and Sarawak.
"This PEKEMA CSR program will also involve the Central, Southern, Northern, Eastern, Sabah, and Sarawak Zones, where each zone will be represented by PEKEMA Committee Members who are responsible for moving the activities of the PEKEMA Foundation, especially in the field of education," Ahmad Faresh added.
Education aid has always been an integral part of PEKEMA’s CSR efforts, which is also in line with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), which is to provide quality education for all. In addition to education fund aid, PEKEMA also distributes aid to those involved in natural disasters and communities in need.
