Dongfeng Cars Upskills Sales Force to Accelerate EV Adoption

Two months after the launch of the Dongfeng Box, Central Auto Distributors Bhd (CADB), the importer and distributor of Dongfeng Cars Malaysia, has announced an initiative to enhance its sales and service capabilities.
The initiative aims to ensure that CADB's sales network thoroughly understands electric vehicles (EVs) and gains the expertise needed to support Malaysia's growing interest in sustainable mobility.

Unlike internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, EVs are relatively new to the Malaysian market. As part of the government’s push for greater EV adoption, CADB recognises that fostering awareness and knowledge about EVs is essential, particularly as these vehicles require lifestyle adjustments for consumers.
According to Dongfeng Cars Malaysia, these staff and dealership representatives training will focus on key areas such as the technical specifications of the Dongfeng Box, maintenance strategies, and handling the vehicle’s unique features.

Datuk SM Zulkifli Amin, COO of CADB, emphasised the importance of such initiatives, stating, "This technical training demonstrates CADB’s commitment to building a knowledgeable team that can provide exceptional customer service while supporting the government’s goals of accelerating EV adoption in Malaysia."

The Dongfeng Box, available in three variants with a range of up to 430 KM (NEDC), is priced between RM100,000 and RM115,000. A quick check on CADB’s website indicates that 15 of its planned 23 dealerships have been established since the announcement in Sept 2024.
