2025 Nissan GT-R Breaks Cover in Japan – Updated Equipment, New Interior Colour

The enigmatic Nissan GT-R lives for another year in Japan, featuring updated equipment and new interior colour.
Almost two decades after making its global debut, the enigmatic Nissan GT-R lives on for yet another year with the introduction of the 2025 model year (2025MY) version in Japan. This time around, the JDM-spec GT-R comes with several equipment updates, plus a new colourway for its interior space.

Both the 2025 GT-R T-Spec variants receive new engine hardware derived from the Nismo model.
Starting with the equipment upgrade, both the 2025 GT-R Premium Edition T-Spec and the Track Edition T-Spec variants are now available with high-precision weight-balanced piston rings, connecting rods, and crankshafts in the engine bay. These parts were exclusively offered to the souped-up GT-R Nismo Special Edition, where they helped the GT-R’s signature VR38DETT engine rev higher and the turbo unit spool faster.

Both the T-Spec variants also get exclusive nameplates in their engine bay.
Also special on both T-Spec variants are the exclusive ‘Takumi’ aluminium nameplate and the gold-hued model number plates – both located in the engine bay of the car.
Performance figures, however, remain unchanged for the 2025 GT-R, with the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine still churning out 570 PS and 637 NM. Said mill is still mated to the same six-speed GR6 dual-clutch gearbox as before, before being transferred to all of its four wheels via Nissan’s proprietary Attesa all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

While the exterior design remains unchanged as prior, the 2025 GT-R comes with a new Blue Heaven interior, exclusively offered to the Premium Edition models.
The 2025MY update sees no changes taking place on the exterior of the new JDM-spec GT-R, as the car looks similar to the 2024 model. Similarly, both the T-Spec variants mentioned above ride on special 20-inch forged wheels hued in gold. Meanwhile, both the standard and T-Spec Premium Editions are now offered with an exclusive Blue Heaven interior, while the rest of the cabin equipment remains unchanged as prior.
Aside from the standard variants mentioned prior, the 2025 GT-R also comes with the Nismo version, which comes in both standard and Special Edition variants. With Nissan Japan not mentioning any upgrades the 2025 GT-R Nismo bestows, we can presume that the model boasts no significant differences from the previous version.

Deliveries for the new 2025 Nissan GT-R are expected to commence later in June this year.
Orders for the new 2025 Nissan GT-R have been opened officially, with prices starting from JPY 14.443 million (RM457,770) for the baseline GT-R Pure Edition, while both the Premium Edition T-Spec and the Track Edition T-Spec models are tagged at JPY 20.35 million (RM644,992) and JPY 22.891 million (RM725,529), respectively. Meanwhile, the top-specced 2025 GT-R Nismo Special Edition is priced at JPY 30.613 million (RM970,277).
With its initial sales expected to commence later in June 2024, Nissan Japan did say that the production for the 2025 GT-R will be limited this time around, although no specific allocated unit numbers were mentioned.
As per our previous report, rumours suggested that the 2025 GT-R will be the final version of the nameplate, with Nissan Japan supposedly planning to give it a proper send-off with a 1,500-unit limited edition model. With no solid plans mentioned about its direct successor, not to mention this recent model year update garnered for it, perhaps the Nissan GT-R will live for another few years or so, possibly reaching the coveted two-decade mark in the process.
