MINI Cooper S Countryman and MINI Cooper SE Countryman Touches Down In Malaysia

BMW Group Malaysia, the official distributor of BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad vehicles in Malaysia, has introduced the locally assembled MINI Cooper S Countryman and MINI Cooper SE Countryman with the price starting from RM 244,265.76.


“The locally-assembled MINI Countryman introduced for the first time in 2018 was a significant milestone for us, as Malaysia became the first market in the world outside of Netherlands to locally assembled the best-selling MINI vehicle.

“Today, we remain committed to our investments in the country with the new MINI Cooper S Countryman and the new MINI Cooper SE Countryman, and we look forward to continue delivering the hallmark go-kart thrill loved by MINIacs across the nation,” said BMW Group Malaysia managing director Harald Hoelzl.

Both variants now come with the MINI ALL4 Exterior Optics, that can be differentiated by the front and rear bumpers with decorative elements and sump guard in aluminum matt to provide a rugged look, auto LED headlamps with cornering lights, bonnet stripes, roof rails, side sills, Union Jack taillamps, Piano black exterior optic, high gloss black finished headlamp surrounds, taillamps, radiator grille, side scuttles, door handles and the model lettering on the tailgate.


Some of the equipment includes 19-inch MINI Turnstile Spoke wheels with runflat tyres for the MINI Cooper S Countryman, while the MINI Cooper SE Countryman is fitted with the 19-inch MINI Yours British Spoke wheels with runflat tyres, powered tailgate with handsfree function, picnic bench, MINI Yours illuminated cockpit in shaded silver, satellite grey headliner, leather cross punch in carbon black, MINI Yours Walknappa multifunction leather steering, 5-inch digital instrument cluster, 8.8-inch MINI Navigation system touchscreen display, wireless charging pad, head-up display, and 12-speaker Harman Kardon HiFi Loudspeaker system.


There is also the Driving Assistant system that includes the digital high-beam assistant, speed limit information, person warning with light city braking function and approach control warning with light city braking function. The person warning and approach control warning will warn and safely brake in speed range of approximately 10 to 60 kph.

The MINI Cooper S Countryman is powered by the 2-litre MINI TwinPower Turbo engine that is paired with the 7-speed dual clutch sports automatic transmission. It generates 192 hp and 280 Nm of torque. 

As for the MINI Cooper SE Countryman, it is running on the 1.5-litre MINI TwinPower Turbo engine coupled with an electric motor and six-speed automatic transmission. The combined power produced are rated at 224 hp and 385 Nm of torque.

MINI Claims that the MINI Cooper S Countryman can sprint from standstill to 100 kph in 7.5 seconds with a top speed recorded at 226 kph. On the other hand, the MINI Cooper SE Countryman is capable to complete the century sprint in 6.8 seconds with a top speed rated at 194 kph.

The MINI Cooper SE Countryman features the latest eDrive technology that provides a maximum electrically powered range of 48 km. In the Max eDrive mode, it provides pure electric driving in speeds up to 120 kph. It can be charged at home by connecting to a power socket via home charging cable, which comes standard with the vehicle.

It takes approximately 5 hours with the 2.3kW power supply to charge from zero to 100 percent. With any of the public charging station that provides 3.7kW power supply, it takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes to top up to 100 percent.

MINI Malaysia provides every MINI Cooper Countryman owners a complimentary MINI Public Charging Cable and one-year free subscription of unlimited charging at all ChargEV stations nationwide.

The new MINI Countryman are available in Chili Red, White Silver, Island Blue, Thunder Grey, British Racing Green and for the first-time, the Sage Green.


Both the MINI Countryman variants are covered by MINI Malaysia’s 5 Years Roadside Assistance programme, 24-hour, 365-days-a-year Accident and Help on the phone and on the spot hotline, free towing services, and when needed (over 200km from residential home), replacement vehicle, seamless mobility, accommodation, mobility services solutions as well as repatriation services.

The MINI Cooper S Countryman is priced at RM 244,265.76, while the MINI Cooper SE Countryman is retailed at RM 254,461.84. 

All prices mentioned are the on-the-road personal registration unit's price, excluding insurance. Both the MINI Countryman variants will be available at all authorized MINI dealerships nationwide starting February 26, 2021.
