- The World Premiere Of The Audi E-Tron GT
Audi AG has premiered its new electric spearhead, the Audi E-Tron GT in February 2021, on the ‘Day of Progress’ online event.
Its chief executive officer Markus Duesmann said, “The E-Tron GT is a stand-alone, Gran Turismo, reinterpreted for the future. Its looks are a testament to premium automotive design. Bringing impressive driving performance, this is electro-mobility in the most emotive way. And with its sustainable concept, it takes a stand because it’s not just the drive concept that is sustainable.”
The Four Rings have presented the fully electric Gran Turismo in two variants, the Audi RS E-Tron GT and the Audi E-Tron GT Quattro.
AUDI AG’s Audi Brand senior vice president Henrik Wenders commented, “With the Audi E-Tron GT we are putting the DNA of Audi on the road. The Gran Turismo superbly reflects our innovative strength and our pioneering spirit. For us it is already part of a line of icons of the brand, alongside the Audi TT and the Audi R8.”
The Audi RS E-Tron GT variant is able to produce a 440 kW (590 hp) of power under the hood and a torque power of 830 Nm. That allows the vehicle to go from 0-100 kph in just 3.3 seconds with a maximum speed of 250 kph.
As for the Audi E-Tron GT Quattro variant, it is able to produce 350 kW (469 hp) of power and a maximum torque of 630 Nm. That allows the vehicle to go from 0-100 kph in 4.1 seconds and is able to hit a top speed of 245 kph.
Both the Audi E-Tron GT has an 800V system which allows it to charge up to 270 kW and recover 100 km of range in only five minutes. Paired with an 86 kWh battery pack that has 396 pouch cells distributed in 33 modules of 12 batteries each. As for the E-Tron GT Quattro it has a 488 km WLTP range.
Dimension wise, the Audi E-Tron GT is standing at a height of 1410 mm, width of 1960 mm, length of 4990 mm and a wheelbase of 2900 mm. It has a trunk with the capacity of 405-litres of space and a frunk (front trunk) that can carry up to 81-litres of load.
AUDI AG’s board member for sales and marketing Hildegard Wortmann said, “The Audi E-Tron GT is the beginning of a new era for Audi. Our aim is to shape the future of electric premium mobility. Love of detail, maximum precision and design that points the way to the future show how much passion we at Audi put into designing and making vehicles.”
