The official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, MITSUBISHI MOTORS MALAYSIA (MMM) has recently recorded a historical high sales performance for its Financial Year 2020 Q4.

From January till March 2-21, the company has seen a 135 percent increase compared to the same quarter last year, with a total vehicle sales of 4,156 units. The company was also able to maintain the top three non-national brands for three consecutive months.

At the same time, MMM also recorded a 51 percent increase of sales at 11,554 units sold for the Financial Year 2020, which runs from April 2020 to March 2021. Compared to the previous Financial Year 2019 which was from April 2019 to March 2020, a total of 11,554 vehicles were sold till 31st March 2020.

A big contributor to the sales performance was the new Mitsubishi XPANDER, which received more than 9,300 bookings since the launch in November 2020. As of recent, the company has delivered 2,742 units to their owners.

“Due to the overwhelming positive response for the new XPANDER, we are progressing to increase our production volume to cater for higher production capacity to fulfil all booking demands,” said its Chief Executive Officer Tomoyuki Shinnishi.

Another vehicle that received attention was the Mitsubishi Triton, which recorded an incremental of 32 percent for its sales performance compared to the previous year. This resulted in a total of 7,568 unit vehicles sold.

“Despite the challenging market situation, MMM closed FY20 on a high with the main drivers for volume growth- the Triton pick-up truck and the new XPANDER seven-seater crossover. Back by our committed dealers, we have expanded our sales outlets to Temerloh, Kuala Selangor and Petaling Jaya last financial year, and more than 60 percent of our dealers have upgraded their outlets for a better customer experience. This FY21, we will continue to expand our dealer network in order to serve our customers better in terms of sales and after sales,” said Shinnishi.

In addition, the CEO stated that the company will continue to prioritize its customers with the introduction of the new Test Drive 2U and Mitsubishi CONNECT.

“We thank our customers who have supported the Mitsubishi brand and the good sales only reveal the brand and customer’s loyalty. In return for this strong support, we prioritize all our customers’ needs by introducing a seamless digitalization sale and after sales experience with the introduction of Test Drive 2U, MITSUBISHI CONNECT mobile application as well as the newly launched Mitsubishi Online Showroom. With this, we persevere to push forward and to remain optimistic in our new financial year, in terms of growing our sales while maintaining a dedicated after sales service.” added the CEO.
