Nissan has unveiled the 2021 Nissan Patrol NISMO, making it the latest chapter of the Nissan’s performance brand.

A virtual premier was hosted at Expo Dubai 2020 which previewed the new race-inspired version of the renowned Patrol, which is said to combine striking exteriors with the refinement of a luxury car and the thrilling performance of a sports car.

Available exclusively to the Middle East region, it will be the mark of a year-long celebration for the 70th anniversary of the Nissan Patrol, which debuted in 1951. It also furthers the Nissan NEXT transformation journey following the launch of the all-new Nissan X-Terra.

The Nissan Patrol NISMO underlines Nissan’s heritage as a motorsport brand as well as the region’s long-standing interest in high-performance vehicles. While the exterior is refined for optimal aerodynamics and suspension as well as zero lift force, it also features amplified handling and stylish race-inspired ergonomics. Featured is also the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) features.

Nissan Middle East managing director Thierry Sabbagh said "Since the launch of the NISMO brand in the region, we have listened to our customers to understand their evolving needs, and worked with our global teams to deliver a NISMO product that not only addresses customer demand, but also takes the iconic Patrol experience to a whole new level. With the 2021 Patrol NISMO, our customers can experience the thrill of handling a car with a racing spirit and turn heads as they glide through the streets."

The launch also showcases a strong demand for the NISMO brand in the Middle East, since its launch in 2016. Nissan's performance brand is responsible for motorsports activities and specialty performance cars. Committed in delivering exhilarating driving experiences, it also features high-quality craftsmanship for the Nissan Patrol NISMO which has now joined the family alongside the 370Z NISMO and GT-R NISMO.

"The exciting enhancements to the 2021 Patrol NISMO make it the ultimate mark for performance, luxury and respect, and adds to our strong Patrol proposition and overall business strategy to ensure we remain a class apart in the region. We are proud to launch this product exclusively for our customers in the Middle East, especially as we mark the 70th anniversary of the Patrol – and look forward to seeing our customers discover what this eye-catching SUV has to offer," Sabbagh continued.

Powering the vehicle is a V8 engine tuned by Nissan’s Takumi craftsmen team, which consists of a team of four master engine builders. This allows the Patrol NISMO to produce 428 hp and 560 Nm respectively.

A new front fascia with honeycomb three-dimensional mesh is featured, emphasizing the SUV’s front V-Motion grille along with new head lamps and horizontal chrome lines decorated with the NISMO emblem. The symmetrical-designed rear bumper accentuates the car width, with dark chrome inserts and upgraded tail lamps. Included is also the LED rear fog lamps inspired by Nissan’s Formula 1 car, which emits the same brightness as the car;s brake lights in dreadful conditions.

The signature NISMO red line is also seen wrapping the circumference of the vehicle’s base, while the 22-inch two-tone aluminium wheels sport the NISMO logo for an unique aesthetic. The vehicle also features Bilstein shock absorbers, providing a sportier and refined handling.

Included is the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) technologies which includes Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Smart Rear View Mirror and a High Beam Assist. The Patrol NISMO also features Apple CarPlay support, wireless charging capabilities and USB ports, including USB-A and USB-C.

Interior-wise, the vehicle is fitted with Alcantara fabric with side leather upholstery with matching black Alcantara steering wheel. Featured is also the embossed NISMO logo on the headrests as well as a refreshed center console and dashboard. Cabin quietness and the AC for the second row are also upgraded to ensure a comfortable and seamless drive.

The 2021 Nissan Patrol NISMO will be available across the Middle East from April 2021 with a starting price of AED 385,000 (RM 431,044.48) inclusive of VAT. Note that price will vary from market to market.
