Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recently revealed the newest addition to its Dream Cars collection, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+.
“The new Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ is the latest addition to the Mercedes-Benz Dream
Cars collection. Not only has the vehicle become more powerful, comfortable and intelligent, it will also provide our customers with a new level of driving experience. Together in our pursuit of the maximum Driving Performance, this new vehicle is a guaranteed head-turner,” says VP of Marketing and Sales at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, Michael Jopp.
Under the hood is a 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine that produces 612 hp and 850 Nm of torque. It can perform a century sprint in 3.4 seconds. It is paired with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission. Not only does a wet multi-plate start-off clutch replace the torque converter, but its two exhaust-gas turbochargers are also equipped with twin-scroll technology!
The driver has the option of choosing the “Comfort” drive program that allows for a more comprehensive engine speed range of 1000 to 3250 rpm with its cylinder deactivation system.
In addition to that, the driver can view whether the cylinder deactivation system is in use and whether the engine is operating in four or eight-cylinder mode through a unique display in the instrument cluster.
Dynamic engine mounts are also fitted in the vehicle that allows the vehicle to adapt the stiffness to driving conditions.
Exterior highlights include the redesigned LED headlamps, a new expression of the vertical-bar AMG grille, a deep front apron with aggressive air intakes, a reshaped rear, new horizontally oriented LED tail lamps, flared side sills, twin power domes in the hood, and a rear apron with functional diffuser.
On top of that, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ comes with 20-inch, 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, as well as new body colours such as polar white, obsidian black metallic, graphite grey metallic, Mojave silver metallic, nautic blue metallic, selenite grey metallic, high-tech silver metallic, designo selenite grey magno, designo spectral blue magno, designo diamond white bright, designo and hyacinth red metallic.
As for the AMG Night Package includes exterior mirror housings, window frames, trim insert in the longitudinal members and trim elements in the front and rear apron are kept in high-gloss black, as well as tailpipe trim elements in black chrome. Not only that, but the AMG-specific radiator grille also comes in a darkened design.
The AMG Exterior Carbon-Fibre Package includes a front splitter, trim insert in the longitudinal member and the trim element in the rear apron in carbon fibre. This package is exclusive to the 63-series models.
Finished in Nappa leather, the AMG-specific upholstery also includes an “AMG” badge in the front seat backrests. Not forgetting the Nappa leather in black/titanium grey pearl with yellow contrasting topstitching.
Moving on, the steering wheel rim is a hallmark motorsport feature where the cover is a combination of leather and DINAMICA microfibre. It also included a sensor mat that can detect when the driver does not have their hands on the steering wheel. If it does not detect “hands-on” for a particular time, the vehicle activates Emergency Brake Assist.
The vehicle’s steering assist is assigned to the various stages of the AMG DYNAMICS system and comes with three functions that include “Basic”, “Advanced”, and “Master/Pro”.
Coming as an all-wheel-drive, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ is also equipped with Drift Mode that turns it into a purely rear-wheel drive vehicle once the “RACE” drive program is enabled using the shift paddles. This feature will remain engaged until the driver deactivates it.
Six options are available under the DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs that include “Slippery”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport+”, “Individual”, and “RACE”. The driver will also be allowed to choose to switch directly to manual mode.
Coming as standard is ”Hey Mercedes” with enhanced MBUX, now with a new feature that makes it possible to have the weather forecast for specific regions readout.
Additional highlights include the MBUX infotainment system with a touchscreen and touchpad, the intelligent voice control plus AMG-specific displays and settings. Forming a Widescreen Cockpit, the instrument cluster and multimedia displays share a glass cover.
The driver can even call up various special AMG displays such as Engine Data, gear speed indicator, Warm-up, Set-Up, G-Meter and RACETIMER all through the AMG menu.
