Three Teams And Full 4X4 Lineup Under Bronco Brand To Compete In 2021 Desert Navigation Rally!
Competing in the all-women off-road event that challenges participants to conquer the harsh desert terrains of Nevada and California - the 2021 Rebelle Rally - is Ford’s full Bronco outdoor brand lineup that consists of all-4x4 SUVs.
The October event consists of two women teams competing in a Bronco two-door, Bronco four-door and Bronco Sport.
In the 2020 Rebelle Rally, professional off-roader Shelby Hall and navigator Penny Dale scored a win in the X-cross class in a Bronco Sport. The competition covered more than 1,200 miles (1,931 km).
This year, Hall and Dale will be competing in the 4x4 class in a Bronco two-door, while professional off-roaders Melissa Fischer and Cora Jokinen will be competing in the X-cross class in a Bronco two-door.
Following that, novice Rebelle off-roaders Kathryn Reinhardt and Victoria Bundrant of off-road accessory supplier 4Wheel Parts will compete in the 4x4 class in a Bronco four-door.
“We’d love nothing more than to podium a Bronco and a Bronco Sport at the same time. I like sending the full family of Broncos because Rebelle is about taking on different types of terrains and exploring; competitors aren’t just hitting high speeds in the desert. It’s a chance to show Bronco doing a different type of off-roading,” said Bronco Sports marketing manager, Jovina Young.
Did you know that the Rebelle Rally was designed to challenge the navigation skills of the participants?
Participants of the event will start at Hoover Dam on October 8 and make their way across rugged terrain in Nevada and California. They are to complete the journey at Imperial Sand Dunes in California on October 16.
Some of the vehicles included in the race include the Bronco Sport and Bronco four-door (Badlands) and the Bronco two-door (Wildtrak). All three are outfitted in race livery inspired by the Bronco 4600 stock class race vehicle in the ULTRA4 stock class off-road series this year.
Equipped with the Sasquatch™ Package, the Bronco two-door also maintains bone stock designation, with its second-row seats removed. Not forgetting the 4Wheel Parts team that will be accessorising the Bronco four-door entry.
An essential rule of the event is that teams must have their Trail Maps and other electronic navigation equipment disabled on the Bronco two- and four-door entries.
“The No. 1 obstacle at Rebelle is your navigation, but the terrain challenges the vehicles and these competitive women too. “This is such a great event to showcase what Bronco and these women off-roaders are capable of in the harshest conditions,” added Young.
