- The Great Wall Returns To Europe, Wei Coffee 01 And Ora Cat Unveiled!
China’s Great Wall Motors is returning to Europe by announcing two cars at the IAA 2021: a compact EV and a plug-in hybrid SUV. Both Ora and Wey brands are debuting with the Ora Cat concept pure electric car and the Wey Coffee 01 plug-in hybrid.
Up first: the Ora Cat is measured at 4,235 mm long and features a retro-classic theme, along with a retro-futurism theme continuing inside the cabin. Different battery pack options will be available, the largest one with 59.1 kWh and offers a 501 NEDC range. Additional features include a 360-degree camera system, radar sensors, road cameras, and smart driving functionality as standard.

Meanwhile, the Coffee 01, or known as Mocca in China, features a 41.8 kWh battery pack, which is much larger than present pure EVs. It is also equipped with a 2.0-litre miller-cycle internal combustion engine and two electric motors mated to a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is reported to have a range of 150 kilometres, alongside a century sprint in five seconds.

Additionally, the plug-in hybrid SUV will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset, allowing 5G connectivity, facial recognition, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and augmented reality.
The Ora Cat and Wey Coffee 01 will be available for preorder starting in late 2021, with deliveries expected to begin in the first half of the following year. It is reported that the Cat will be sold for approximately €30,000 (RM145,789).
