- Closure Of Several Roads Surrounding Kuala Lumpur Due To Flood And Heavy Rain
Following the persistent heavy rain that began at 3 p.m. today afternoon, several roads surrounding Kuala Lumpur were closed.
Among the flooded routes, according to the Kuala Lumpur Police's official Facebook page, are Jalan Pudu, Jalan Maharajalela, Jalan Chan Sow Lin, and Jalan Travers.
The heavy rain caused water to pool around Changkat Thambi Dollah, as well as major traffic congestion from Jalan Pudu to Kampung Pandan, Ampang.
A falling tree on Jalan Syed Putra caused the wall of the Royal Palace Museum to shatter, in addition to the flooded roadway.
Following that, two Toyota Vellfire and Honda BRV vehicles that happened to be at the scene were hit by the tree.
"However, the two victims who were in their vehicles were lucky because they did not suffer any injuries," said JBPM Kuala Lumpur Operations Commander Omar Chekku.
The incident also caused traffic congestion along Jalan Syed Putra.
However, the congestion recovered after the Kuala Lumpur City Hall removed and cleared the remains of the fallen tree.
