- Leading The EV Future with Mercedes First EV EQA 250 AMG Line
Along the lines of Mercedes' global direction to go fully electric by 2030, the company debuted its first ever fully electric vehicle in the EQ family, the EQA 250 AMG Line which takes place at Petrosains, KLCC.
This model arrives in Malaysia having its setup fully imported from Germany (CBU) carrying an impressive range of powertrain and personalised with designs from the AMG Line. This new EV model costs approximately RM278,201.25 on-the-road without insurance.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia dazzles its way towards business digital offering and leads transformation with data strategy by heightens the approach through CSR programmes as part of Global Ambition 2039.
The EQA holds the key to enter electric mobility among Mercedes-Benz EQ whereas under the hood is a combined electric consumption of 17.6 kWh/100km and total range of 429 kilometres according to WLTP on its 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels.
Being part of EQA thermal management system, the battery pack has a maximum voltage of 420 V and a minimal capacity of 190 Ah offering an energy content of 66.5 kWh. The battery allows itself to be cooled or heated via a coolant-fed plate to ensure its temperature is within optimum range.
According to Vice president of sales and marketing at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Michael Jopp said, Mercedes-EQA is packed with seamless connectivity, clear design, advanced technology and offers customers electrification in the compact segment.
Designed in sporty version, the EQA exterior portrays a fierce structure of GLA fitted on demand in EV. Recognising a unique continuous light strip at front and rear combines well with fibre-optic strip that connects the LED High Performance headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist.
A progressive styling inside the EQ offers 40/20/40 split folding rear seat backrest and typical for any SUV, the seating position is high and upright making it comfortable for occupants to get in and out apart from the luxury seat with four-way adjustable lumbar support.
With its advanced and technological features, the system is designed to set pre-entry climate control before starting its engine controlled by MBUX infotainment system or via the Mercedes me App.
Touching on safety concerns for a new EQ EV, the model offers Acoustic ambient protection to alert pedestrians and cyclists in silent virtual driving. For another safety aspect, the charging process will be automatically restricted once the car is fully charged.
Along with the launching event, five students from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) were announced winners of Virtual STEM Series co-sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Petrosains. The students also earned an internship spot with the car marque each on their own fields.
The Virtual STEM Series was held on February 15 with a Kick-Off and Meet the Expert session conversing ideas on the vision of an electric future, covering future technology alongside initiatives in tackling climate change.
