- The Mystery of Rolls Royce Black Badge Revealed
Glancing in the dark with its white shining armour body has revealed the mystery of Rolls Royce Black Badge Ghost during its official debut.
Reminiscing the bodywork of Black Badge Ghost reminded me of one of the jewellery we saw throughout the window where you could not take your eyes off them.
For its official release in Malaysia, the Black Badge Ghost staged its price at RM1.8 million before taxes, bringing a model mirroring the nostalgic and ultra-luxurious in targeting a new class of generation that appreciates aesthetic artwork in an SUV.
“Black Badge is the ‘alter-ego’ of Rolls-Royce, an alternative to a segment of super-luxury customers who value the bold and non-conformist.” said director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur, Anas Zawawi Khalid.”
“We are witnessing highly successful entrepreneurs who are more diverse than ever before, coming from non-traditional industries. They are innovators, trailblazers — and above all — those who dare. Black Badge is their code of luxury. “ he added.
A width of 2148mm and 1571mm in height, the SUV is adorned with Pantheon Grille alongside the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy statuette standing gloriously on the bonnet had gone through a distinctive chrome plating process ended by precision-polished by hand to achieve a mirror-black chrome.
In pursuing the darkest black of its body, 45kg of paint is used to an electrostatically charged body in white before being oven-dried. The car marque offers more than 44,000 different colours, or as an option, owners may request any shades preferred.
With an auto-door that closes off delicately and a hidden umbrella pit in the rear area, each passenger also gets to experience ultimate comfort by its heating and cooling massage.
Crafted with a diamond pattern mixed in metallic fibres, it is laid to each of its seating components to inspire a 3D effect.
On top of that, occupants’ seats have Technical Fibre ‘Waterfall’ as a significant symbol of Black Badge Ghost representing potential infinity known as a Lemniscate.
Swaying to the cabin, thousands of pinhole lights emulating shooting stars in the Starlight Headliner adds up the cinema ambience.
The Ghost rides on a 21-inch BeSpoke wheelset styled with carbon fibre barrel exclusively for this model, it churns out 6.75-litre V12 engine transmission delivering 592 hp and 900 Nm torque power.
Rated at 250km/h for its top speed, the ZF eight-speed gearbox sends out power to both front and rear-steered axles to give the right amount of response towards the driver.
Range from 1700 rpm and a gearshift that accelerated by 50 percent is available when switching to a “Low” button that performs as the Sport mode, which is asserted through a new exhaust system.
Among other compulsory inputs to touch on must be its safety features, consisting of automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, active lane control, night vision, a surround-view camera system with an overhead view, and front and rear parking sensors.
