Mitsubishi Electric EV – To Be Part of Joint Research on Commercial Vehicle
Mitsubishi Minicab-MiEV, a kei-car class EV which is currently marketed in Japan, claims to have low operational cost alongside its capability of crossing on steep roads.
As produced, the battery displayed in two sizes consists of a smaller 10.5kWh lithium-ion battery that takes 4.5 hours to gain full battery capacity on 100km range, meanwhile the other 16kWh lithium-ion battery form enables seven hours to charge the battery completely with 150km range.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) and four Indonesian companies to explore usage of Mitsubishi Minicab-MiEV.
Gojek, as one of four companies, will be using Mitsubishi Minicab MiEV in research for six months. Other companies involved are Pos Indonesia, Haleoya Power, and DHL Supply Chain Indonesia.
In this joint research, a 2WD and 4-seater Minicab-MiEV are being utilised.
The EV will be used in a study to seek on commercial EV applications by validating based on actual usage data as well as charge record, delivery routes and mileage.
"Through this study, we hope to explore broader use of Mitsubishi Motors' electric commercial vehicles in Indonesia." said president director PT MMKSI, Naoya Nakamura.
