Due To Chip Shortage And Pandemic, Honda Malaysia Expects New Car Deliveries To Be Delayed

If you have placed a booking for a new Honda vehicle recently, expect delays in deliveries, stemming from the global semiconductor shortage and ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The automaker in its statement has clarified that parts and distribution for new car production will be delayed due to a global shortage of semiconductors and the Covid-19 pandemic. This has caused disruption and inconsistency in its factory's output.

In addition, customers who have already placed bookings with our authorised dealers may experience delays in new car delivery depending on models or variants due to the reduction in production output and high market demand for our products.

Due to the production cut, customers may not be able to receive their new Honda vehicle before the resumption of Sales & Service Tax (SST) for the automotive industry.

"We deeply apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers due to the delay in production and prolonged delivery. Honda Malaysia will continue to maximise our production output and deliver the new Honda vehicles to our customers as soon as possible. We would like to express our gratitude for your understanding on the current condition.” – Honda Malaysia
