Prancing With An Alluring Feline Attitude, Perching Atop The C-Segment, The New Peugeot 408

The first of its kind, both in the history of the brand itself and in the car market as a whole, creatively demonstrating its uniqueness, the new Peugeot 408.
Perched atop of the C segment, this new age Peugeot offers an alluring feline attitude with excellently engineered efficiency, electrifying intelligence and cutting-edge technologies.
First off, the Peugeot 408 outshines the rest in its segment solely for its dynamic fastback silhouette and its unmistakable style.
Its feline stance is characteristic of the brand, its lines are sharp and the grille with the new lion head emblem comes in the same color as the bodywork.

Flanking the latter are the fang-shaped headlights, which perfectly radiate its uniqueness, as do the three-claw LED tail lights at the rear.
Speaking of which, the inverted cut-out of the rear bumper is unexpected, though it gives the profile a strong look.
Then, its 1,480 mm height built in a slim and sleek silhouette, simply improves on its overall aerodynamic efficiency.
Completing the outlook are its paws. It stands commandingly on a set of 720 mm diameter wheels and its 20-inch all-black rims feature a disruptive geometric design.

Interior-wise, with a length of 4,690 mm and a long wheelbase spanning 2,790 mm, it has a remarkably spacious second row with 188 mm of legroom.
Also, the boot is generously sized with a volume of 536 liters, which can be increased to 1.611 liters once the rear seats are folded down.
Meanwhile in the front, the Peugeot 408 offers the latest generation of the Peugeot i-Cockpit that’s instantly recognizable by its compact steering wheel.
Most importantly, the cabin stresses on quality and connectivity with the very latest technologies, making the driving and traveling experience more intuitive.

Notably, to assure the safety of its occupants, the driver assistance systems come with 6 cameras and 9 radars all together.
They include Adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, and night vision that warns of animals, pedestrians or cyclists ahead before they appear in the high beam.
That’s not all, also equipped is a 75-meter long-range blind spot monitoring and rear traffic alert, which warns of a potential hazard when reversing.
As for its heart, the Peugeot 408 gets three engines. Two rechargeable hybrid forms with 178 hp and 222 hp, and a 128 hp petrol. All setup features an 8-speed EAT8 automatic transmission.

Elsewhere, efficiency was the pivotal element for the designers. Especially in terms of the aerodynamics, weight reduction from 1,396 kg and low-emission engines.
Significantly, this means that the feline can now boast remarkably low average energy consumptions, both for the hybrids and for the 128 hp petrol version.
All in all, the new Peugeot 408 will prance out in early 2023. Produced first in Mulhouse, France, for the European market and soon after, in China’s Chengdu factory for the local market.
