- Putrajaya MRT To Begin Operation On June 16
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will inaugurate the first phase of the Putrajaya MRT, which will run for 17.5 kilometres from Kwasa Damansara to Kampung Batu.
Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) said in a statement Tuesday (June 7) that Ismail Sabri would perform the honour next Thursday morning (June 16), before passenger operations begin at 3 p.m. that day.
The Putrajaya line's first phase includes 12 stations, including Kwasa Damansara, Kampung Selamat, Sungai Buloh, Damansara Damai, Sri Damansara Barat, Sri Damansara Sentral, Sri Damansara Timur, Metro Prima, Kepong Baru, Jinjang, Sri Delima, and Kampung Batu.
Passengers can transfer to KTM stations at Sungai Buloh, Sri Damansara Timur (to Kepong Sentral), and Kampung Batu in the first phase of this line.
Thirteen new bus routes will also begin service alongside the new MRT service. Seven MRT stations also have parking facilities for over 2,800 cars.
