An automotive company behind some of the world’s most impressive off-roaders, Prodrive, presents the world’s first all-terrain hypercar, the Prodrive Hunter.

First of its road-legal racers, the Hunter is based on the Prodrive BRX Hunter T1+ driven by the Frenchman Sébastien Loeb in the Dakar rally.

The all-terrain beast has a 3.5-litre V6 Ford engine at its heart, tuned by Prodrive to boost over 600 hp and 700 Nm of torque.

Said engine is married to a six-speed with paddle-shift transmission that transmits the power to all four wheels.

Capable of ploughing through or over obstacles, the powertrain propels the car from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 4 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h).

Other elements fitted are the 35-inch off-road tires, a double-wishbone suspension in the front and rear, adjustable dampers, and also front, centre, and rear differentials.

Prodrive’s chairman, David Richards, remarked in an interview with Autocar, “The Hunter is the Ferrari of the desert.”

On that note, in terms of the pricing, it is somewhat over the top. It is tagged at USD 1.63 million (RM 7,202,155). Then again, being the first all-terrain hypercar, it’s understandable.

Ultimately, there will only be 25 units produced, and the first one has already been sold to Bahrain’s Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
