Honda Malaysia reported today that it sold more than 39,000 units between January and June 2022, a 60 percent increase over the same period in 2021.
The good success puts the firm on track to meet its 80,000-unit sales target for 2022. The company contributed 12 percent of Total Industry Volume (TIV) as of June 30, 2022.
On top of that, Honda Malaysia has the largest number of sales in the first half of 2022, with more than 10,500 units sold in March.
In terms of model sales performance, the City was the best-selling model, accounting for 39 percent of total sales, followed by the City Hatchback and Civic at 23 percent and 18 percent, respectively.
Notably, from January to May 2022, the City, City Hatchback, Civic, and Accord were the No. 1 Non-National automobiles in their respective classes.
According to Managing Director and CEO of Honda Malaysia Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura stated that Honda Malaysia began 2022 on a high note with the launch of the Civic in January, which created a significant impact in the market with its appealing and premium features.
"We kept the momentum going in July with the introduction of our popular Compact SUV, the All-New HR-V’’ he added.
Honda Malaysia thanks the Malaysian government for its cooperation in extending the sales tax-free car registration term till March 31, 2023.
