The New Nissan Serena S-Hybrid Launches July 6, Check It Out Now At All Nissan Showrooms
Among the first hybrid models to be assembled in Malaysia and is still the only locally-assembled hybrid MPV, the new Nissan Serena S-Hybrid is finally launching tomorrow, July 6, 2022.
It comes in two variants. The base is Serena S-Hybrid Highway Star and the top is Serena S-Hybrid Premium Highway Star.
The prices start at RM 149,888 and RM 162,888 respectively, with orders now accepted at all authorized Nissan showrooms nationwide.
Early bookers get a special offer of five free alternating maintenance services inclusive of parts and labour, and five years unlimited mileage warranty.
Dimension-wise, being an MPV it’s fairly big, standing at 4,770 mm long, 1,740 mm wide, 1,865 mm tall and with a wheelbase spanning 2,860 mm.
Exterior-wise, fitted are automatic LED projector headlamps with auto levelling and LED signature lamp, and front fog lamps with daytime running lights (DRL).
What’s more, it also comes with a dual-back-door functionality (half open/full open) and hands-free dual power sliding doors for easy access.
As for the wheels, it rides on a set of 15-inch alloy rims wrapped in 195/65 R15 rubbers for the base variant, and 16-inch alloys with 205/55 R16 for the top.
Completing it, three colours are offered for the base trim. They are Brilliant White, Tungsten Silver and Diamond Black.
Meanwhile, the top trim gets four two-toned colours ranging from Diamond Black, Dark Metal Grey, Brilliant White and Radiant Red. All hues come with a Diamond Black roof.
Interior-wise, the steering wheel is in leather with shortcut switches to numerous functions and a 7-inch full colour Advanced Drive Assist Display (ADAD) Fine Vision instrument meter.
Then, the infotainment system features a 6.75-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the base trim, while the top trim gets a bigger setup at 9 inches.
There is also an 11.6-inch roof mounted monitor setup, offered as an option in the base trim, and a standard in the top. Though fitted standard on both are seven USB ports all around the cabin.
Furthermore, it comes with a dual channel driving video recorder (DVR), in other words a dashcam, positioned at the front and back. Optional for the base and standard for the top trim.
In terms of the air-conditioning, the front offers a dual zone auto climate control, and the rear with digital switches for the 2nd and 3rd row vents.
Besides that, both trims get 13 seating configuration seats featuring zero gravity front and second row seats, with the second getting captain seats with dual armrests and long-slide function.
Upholstery-wise, the seven seaters in the base trim are in fabric with a leatherette option, whereas the top gets either the premium brown quilted nappa leather or the black quilted nappa.
Other miscellaneous fitments are trunk trays, ‘Tech-On’ tray mat and LED room lamp. These are optional on the base trim and standard in the top.
Elsewhere, standard across both trims is the Nissan Intelligent Mobility driving system that comprises a suite of driving assistance.
Said features are Intelligent Predictive Forward Collision Warning (IPFCW) and Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking (EB), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
Adding to that is the Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Intelligent Around View Monitor (IAVM), Intelligent Moving Object Detection (IMOD) and Intelligent Driver Alertness (IDA).
Safety-wise, it comes with a Hill Start Assist (HSA), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS), and a total of six airbags (two fronts, two sides and two full-length curtains).
Performance-wise, the Serena S-Hybrid sports a 2.0-litre DOHC with twin CVTC (Continuously Variable-Valve Timing Control), 4-Cylinder, 16-Valve, direct fuel injection engine.
Accompanied by an ECO (Energy Control) motor with electric regenerator and secondary battery, which aids torque on take-off, lessening pressure on the petrol mill, thus improves fuel efficiency.
Mated to the entire setup is an X-TRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC).
Engineered for responsiveness and fuel efficiency, the mill boasts 110kW/148 hp at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, while combusting 14.2 km/l of fuel.
All in all, upon launching, the new Nissan Serena S-Hybrid will surely attract the family demographic, accounting on the premium styling, newly added safety features and spaciousness it offers.
