The Thorium Car Can Run For 100 Years On Only 8 Grammes Of Fuel!

This Thorium car is a hypothetical concept vehicle that could run for a hundred years without needing to be refuelled. This vehicle would be powered by thorium, one of the densest minerals on the planet. Vehicle powered by thorium.

Because of its high density (11.7 grammes per cubic metre), thorium can store an enormous amount of energy, more than 20 million times that of coal. This means that a small amount of Thorium can provide the same amount of energy as a large amount of fossil fuels such as coal or oil.

In terms of energy, one gramme of thorium contains the equivalent of 28,000 gallons of oil. Thorium, if its energy could be obtained, could be the answer to humanity's exponentially growing energy needs.

Inspired by Thorium's enormous energy potential, a company called Laser Power Systems created a speculative design for a Thorium-powered car. Such a vehicle would almost certainly never require refuelling because it would exhaust its fuel supply before it ran out.

In this concept, Laser Power Systems develops a laser powered by Thorium. This Laser is then directed at the water and used to heat it until it boils, producing steam. This steam is then used to power a turbine, which generates electricity. This energy is converted into mechanical power, which is then used to propel the vehicle.

By incorporating Thorium into the power system's architecture, Laser Power Systems ensures that this hypothetical Thorium-powered car will be able to drive for more than a hundred years without needing to be refuelled. Even more incredible, Laser Power Systems claims that the power generation system for such a car would require only 8 grammes of Thorium.

Such a vehicle would emit no emissions and would significantly contribute to addressing the issues associated with reliance on fossil fuels, such as global warming.
